It’s not like that vet never told me to see a dentist. I was just being stubborn about it (anxiety about cost and travel logistics—Aspy stuff!). I got her full medical record from this hospital to give to the dentist. I look it through it from time to time to match vet pictures with case notes. It’s an odd way to remain connected with her. I’m sad to see that her vets recommended a dentist several times before they told me they wouldn’t work in her mouth anymore and insisted on it. I wonder what kind of grief and bother I could have spared her had I listened the first time. This is why whenever I hear of a cat with a chronic dental condition, I recommend a dentist right off the bat to get proactive about it. Like I didn’t do. 🤦🏼‍♂️😔

Krista doesn’t need to daydream about the Windows Lock Screen. She had a plate of turkey pate just off the desk there. Probably because of her dental discomfort, I was feeding her wherever she would eat. I want to make a memory video of her eating pictures. I have even fed her in my closet. I also fed her in odd places to keep things interesting for her. I thought it must be monotonous to sleep and eat in the same places each day. 😻
Same thoughts and actions here, just about parallel. I'm the same way with myself, partly because of costs and logistics but in larger part because of ideology/family beliefs. I wish my aspy self could know exactly how long and how much, so I could plan accordingly; but things change moment to moment, so I'm never relaxed on any of the above.
That's so great about making her meal times interesting. I keep my KUSC.org on from waking to TV time in the evening and my male roomie appreciates it so much -- he says it's like dining in a fine restaurant (with a crystal chandelier in a formal dining room with crown molding, no less!) so I guess that's making it more interesting for him, at least. Baby Su chooses to be in the master bedroom almost all the time, and Elvis spends a lot of time in there, too, so I moved both of their dining trays in there (partly to be away from my hyper and clumsy roomie who is in their former dining area in the breakfast room a lot during/after dinnertime) and sometimes Elvis cruises through the breakfast room kind of wistfully (and partly to have some crunchies and drink from the fountain).
That's a WIN lockscreen? Nice! I never see mine because I have my own photos up instead. They've been Tarifa pix since August 17th.

I don’t have any pictures of Krista doing this. 🤦🏼‍♂️But she did this.😹 It didn’t take me long to learn to cover the rolls with towels. I can imagine she would have looked like this too if I had rescued her that young. 😻 She eventually outgrew this bad habit. Maybe it was a teenager thing. After that age, it’s not as much fun to TP the house. 😹👍

Oh no. It's not limited to age. My angel Rani used to demolish the TP rolls well into her mature years. They have these plastic TP protectors you can buy. They fit over the roll and the spindle fits through them and the roll as usual. Rani and/or other cats figured out very quickly how to go up under the protector to get to their quarry. :climbcat::gaah:

Fortunately for Krista, the hand towel over the roll was very effective. 👍 I don’t remember how many years I did that for. But at some point, she lost interest and never thought to try it again. Because it’s been some number of years since I worried about an uncovered roll. This is something I keep in the back of my mind in this between cats time. I am trying not to get too lazy knowing that soon enough, I’ll have a new mischief inspector issuing housekeeping guidance 😹🤦🏼‍♂️

It's funny. There was this thing with Rani and maybe others, but basically I'd say that all the cats I've shared life with so far have been really good in terms of not being destructive. My roomies, as good as they are emotionally, are more destructive to my house than cats could ever dream of being. Of course, when cats get elderly and/or ill, they have "accidents" and I don't count those, because so do people, and they're unavoidable/part of life. And territorial stuff is in there, too. But as to mischief, there really hasn't been much at all. That's one of many reasons I'm militant about advocating for cats in rental properties. KIDS are far more destructive than cats in my experience. Frat boys, too.

Home before the Katris pieces. That janky TV tray setup. 🤦🏼‍♂️ No wonder she never used it to get to her tree. 😹

Well, but the footstool is great, though. IKEA!
I love Krista's photobomb! And in the second pic, is she saying, "Oh, hi, Dad! Didn't expect you home so early! Let's binge-watch on some murder porn! *What's for dinner, btw?*"

The chair and the foot stool are IKEA. A mismatched set. 😹 🤦‍♂️ The foot stool that matches that chair is probably a side table next to the kitchen to serve as a landing spot for my back pack. That foot stool was the angry octopus. It had six steel legs in a starfish shape that one of them was always finding feet and toes in the dark. 🤦‍♂️😿 Like fugitive Legos. And just as painful! Glad to be done with them both.

I'm pretty sure I called her over playing with the two way audio on the new camera. But it is very adorable. I should see about making a Shutterfly photo tile out of it.

I'm one of two Clumsy Queens in this house -- the other NOT being Baby Su 😸 -- and if furniture, corners, or anything else can find me, it will. *What??? You mean purple and green are not natural skin colors?*
And I haven't seen the film, but YES.
