Red Bumpy Thing On Butthole?

My seemingly normally acting 2 year old nutered boy has like a red bump like thing on his anus/butthole.. I can't tell if it's blood or like a hemorrhoids? I checked his box and found normal amount of poop and pee! What do I do I'm so worried! Please see photo...

Hi. Were you able to get a pic to your vet? Does your cat act like the bump is bothering him? Is the area swollen any?

It could be related to one or both of the anal glands (one of each side of the anus and the 4 & 8 positions of a face clock). They could be clogging or otherwise irritated. Sometimes it results from less-than-hard stools, as the anal glands are naturally expressed through defecation of firm stools.

So, if you can't get a pic to the vet, call them and ask them about it.
