Another update. again more food involved and more countries
this food was sent to the USA and the following countries. This company makes cat food as well as dog food.

Midwestern Pet Foods, Inc. may have exported the recalled product to one consignee, respectively, in each of the following countries: Bahrain, Barbados, Chile, Costa Rica, Curacao, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Polynesia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Singapore, Taiwan, Trinidad, Ukraine, UAE, Uruguay, and Vietnam.

What to Do?
Affected products may still be on store shelves, online, or in pet owners’ homes.

Pet owners should stop feeding their pets the recalled products listed above and consult their veterinarian, especially if the pet is showing signs of illness.

The pet owner should remove the food and make sure no other animals have access to the recalled product.

Contact Midwestern Pet Foods Consumer Affairs at 800-474-4163, ext. 455 from 7 am to 4 pm CT, Monday through Friday, or by email at [email protected] for additional information.

Further information regarding this recall can be found in the related FDA Bulletin.

U.S. citizens can report complaints about FDA-regulated pet food products by calling the consumer complaint coordinator in your area.

Or go to the FDA’s “Report a Pet Food Complaint” page.

Update on the Hill's science diet recall due to excessive Vit D

Settlement in the Hill’s vit D recall==
after discussing the settlement, which may disturb some, the article by Susan Thixton includes the instructions of How to object to the settlement. which is not easy

Way down on the frequently asked questions page it states that pet owners who “Object to the Settlement” are forced to stay in the lawsuit. “You cannot both exclude yourself from the Settlement and object at the same time. If you exclude yourself, you cannot object to any part of the Settlement. You have to remain in the Settlement Class in order to maintain your right to object to any part of the Settlement.“

Making matters worse, to object to this settlement pet owners have to send a signed letter not only to the Court but also to eight different attorneys.

this is for a previous recall on Science Diet the Vit D problem. here is the
thread where the recall was first posted and the links. It is unlikely what you bought is in the same batches. Sorry to distress you, there is too much stress going around anyway.

Bravo Packing, Inc. of Carneys Point, NJ is expanding the previously announced voluntary recall of two pet food products to now include all pet food and bones in all package sizes.

the list given at the link does not include cat food. I think this is worth
considering

This recall is in the UK, I didn't get a notice about it, but saw it mentioned by a poster and found some information about it.

Ava Kitten food, Sainsbury's, Pets at Home and Applaws products

Sainsbury's and Pets at Home are among retailers to have recalled a type of dry cat food over a potential link to a rare and fatal cat disease.

Owners should return food made on behalf of the brands by manufacturer Fold Hill as a precaution.

Cat Food Recall

If your cat chows on Purina’s wet tuna entrees, check the cans. Nestle Purina recalled certain Pro Plan Complete Essentials tuna sold in three-ounce cans because they may contain bits of flexible black plastic that a pet could choke on.

The “best by” date is June 2023, and the UPC is 38100-11197. The food was sold at pet stores and online. The company says consumers should throw out the food and contact their retailer for a refund or replacement.
