Rawz is an excellent choice for cats with GI issues! My 11 year old boy with IBD has been eating it for several years and is doing extremely well on it. Rawz avoids many of the common "filler foods" that can frequently lead to a flare up; fillers such as potato or pea ingredients, among many others. They use agar-agar as a binding ingredient instead of various gums and, while there are some cats sensitive to agar-agar, cats with GI issues are often very sensitive to most gums.

I like to purchase from our local pet store because they give a small discount on cases, and you can also find individual cans at Incredible Pets.

Which Rawz recipes are using agar-agar? I've been using the 96% pates and there isn't any agar-agar in the ingredients. I checked several different recipes on the Rawz site and I didn't see agar-agar listed.

Chicken & Duck Cat Food Recipe | RAWZ

The texture is very soft. That may be why one of my cats throws it up. Maggie does not like it. Coco is the only one that can eat it

Love Rawz, it makes up the majority of what my cats eat. Very clean minimal ingredient food and I recommend it to anyone dealing with IBD/allergies ect. should they not want to go the prescription diet route. I am also currently using it as the baseline food to do a food allergy trial for one of my cats since I’m not keen on some of the ingredients in typical RX hydrolized diets.

You're right, I don't see any with agar-agar. I thought some of their pouches used it, but I just looked at a handful of them and it's not listed. Their pâtés are as close to perfect as a canned food can get.

I found RAWZ to be a 'rich' filling food. I used it for a while with my IBD/SCL kitty. It is a good food.
I would not hesitate to buy it..

Ditto, I completely agree! :agree:

I can't say enough about how good Rawz canned food is and our cat absolutely loved it. I only purchased the pate because he had all but one tooth left in his mouth so the pate worked well for him. I also bought it at a local pet store and that way could try different flavors one can at a time. I prefer to shop local and support the independent stores.

That is probably why rawz doesn't work for my cat peaches. The one food she rarely throws up is ff classics turkey&giblets

Rawz foods -- particularly the pates -- are very good food. They're not cheap but I'd gladly feed them more to our cats if they liked them better. They'll only eat them every now and then. Their canned shred foods (and pouches, too, if I remember correctly and if the recipes haven't changed) have tapioca in them, which seems to bother our cat with IBD. Beware!

Another great food for IBD cats is Mouser (mouse meat + a more typical meat) but unfortunately our cats aren't especially keen on that one either! They do seem fairly fond of the mouse + duck food, though. I also feed Mouser occasionally.
