My two kittens have been on raw chicken diet (87:7:5:5).
Two local farms supply certified organic meat and we as guardians recently compared the two chickens to see how they compared, although we didn't think we could tell the difference.
Turns out one is lean without much fat while the other has fat distributed evenly and softer to bite. The fatter chickens have an area equivalent of 25 sq metres of pasture each and by no means full of fat. It just has more fat compared to the lean chickens. The lean chickens on the other hand have a maximum of 20kg/m2 (assuming slaughter-weight is 2kg, that's 10 broilers per sqm.) My partner preferred the lean chicken and I kind of liked both but which do you think is better for our feline friends? Does it even matter if they are getting appropriate amount of fat and are healthy whichever chickens they get fed?
