Well, I know for a fact that they grow in the hills of Tennessee. I went to the university in Knoxville, and every spring there is a Ramp Festival up in the mountains. That article didn't say, but my understanding is that they are the strongest onion you've ever tasted. Maybe someone on TCS who lives there could send you a few bulbs.
