Hi, my cat is pregnant and due in around a week, she's due her flea treatment , I spoke to the receptionist at the vets and she said there is nothing I can give her, I don't want her having fleas and then giving them to the babies

Which flea treatment do you use?

Most flea treatments are safe for both pregnant and nursing cats. In fact, using flea meds is preferable to having fleas, which cause anemia in tiny kittens.

Advantage II is safe for sure.

It's always best to speak with the vet. :)

Thank you, I called the vet and his spraying her with front line tomorrow, just hope the kittens don't come before then, she's pacing around meowing and taken up residence behind the couch!

You can also purchase a tube of it from the vet to put on the back of her neck yourself when she needs it.

I hope her labor and delivery go well. Let us know! :)

Will do thank you, she's just finished some chicken and is sitting by the window wishing she could go out,
Think she just wanted a cuddle and is fed up of being on house arrest!!

It's great that you're keeping her in! She can get pregnant again within a week of delivery, so the house arrest will need to continue until the kittens are 8 weeks old. Mom can be spayed at that point.

We joined a package at the vet so I pay £10 a month for all flea, worming treatments and vaccines and money off vet trips and spaying, she was due to have it done but was already preggers!
She escaped when in heat, she's good at darting past you as you open the front door :)

I know! :), they send me reminders of when to give medication to, I always forget when to do it,
She was flea and worm treated this afternoon, was very unhappy and took it out on her carry case Went to the corner and scratched it up for a minute then was fine:) bless her.

Hi everyone, my cats babies are due anytime now but this last week she keeps pooping wherever she likes,
If I keep her in the kitchen she uses her tray but if she's out she poops in the house but she still pee's in her tray! Anyone else had this?
Thank you :)

Possibly forcefully marking her territory. Keep her in her safe room - here it seems to be kitchen

She may also need two pans - one for pee and one for poop. Some cats are finicky about doing their business separately. :)

Pregger's has escaped, she managed to wormed her way through the smallest gap in the window :(, I'm hoping she'll come back soon, she's not been showing any signs of labour, just worried we have a lot of foxes round here:(
