The last time we bought a mattress (and it was a few years ago) the store delivered the new mattress, brought it upstairs to our bedroom. Carefully took the plastic shipping cover off, fitted it over the old mattress and took it away. Part of the delivery service. This is no longer done, or not done in Australia?
Since the pandemic very few companies here have real delivery service. It is the same for just about any delivery. I live in an apartment building and the delivery person will just drop it on the floor inside the door. They don't ring the bell or knock. It's not easy for those of us who can't move large things on our own.

Recently I happened to run into a delivery person who had a large package for me and he was so nice he actually brought it up to my door. He told me that since they are no longer going to the door he delivers almost twice as many packages.

I think it is just an excuse by companies to make more money by doing less.

My husband wears earplugs sometimes because of my snoring. :paperbag: But he knows I would pout and be put out if we slept apart.
He did look shocked when I suggested separate rooms. But then he thought it just might be a good idea if the boy's share my room. They wake him up at stupid o'clock to feed them breakfast  But he doesn't need to worry just yet because there's no spare room. ;)

That's exactly our problem too. He likes firm to extra firm and I like a plushy feel. It's really hard to tell when you're at the store and lay on the bed for a few minutes. Fortunately they have a 4 month return policy free of charge. But we're still debating what to get. :dunno:
That's the worst part. I was glad it worked out being able to get two twin XL and strap them together with this little "bridge" thing in the middle so no one sinks in. It cost a little more though. But if we are both sleeping better i guess it's worth it. I think the mattress in the store was already broken in by people testing it out or something. Our bed looks a little weird with my side having an extra topper under the sheet; but it's not like company visits in there. I think theres a slight height difference between our mattresses but with the little bridge thing you don't notice that much. DH keeps going back and forth between various toppers and no topper so thats all subject to change anyway.

Will they just wake him up in a different location? Mooch will start hunting down different kids if one of us aren't responding to her demands. Standing in the hallway meowing is pretty effective at getting people out of their rooms according to Mooch.

Last night DH told me he overslept by 30 minutes yesterday because he had put in ear plugs. Oops!

We have a 16 year old Tempur-Pedic queen bed. I rarely sleep on it because my DW in engrossed in listening to streaming shows when she goes to bed. I prefer "No Noise" when retiring. Thus sleep elsewhere.

Of course they will but he hasn't thought about that happening. And I'm not telling him. I love that man so much but sometimes he's a crazy fool. we have both slept in because the boy's decided to sleep in.
