Good morning and Happy Whiskers Wednesday! :hellocat: The weather is turning chilly here which means I took out our hats and gloves. We have a small drawer filled with different hats. I bought my favorite winter hat at an independent Irish boutique. It’s made of a very soft wool. In summer I wear baseball caps or a denim bucket hat.

DO YOU WEAR HATS? WHAT TYPE OF HAT(S) DO YOU WEAR? 🎩

I don't usually wear hats. I love them on other people but I don't think they look good on me.

Except fascinators - hate them beyond measure. Not even sure they are considered hats - but still - loathing. My family loves them. When I've been at functions where I had to wear one I cringed the whole time.

Usually I end up wearing more balaclavas in the winter - due to weather here - or a tuke.

In the summer, in the garden, I will wear a large brimmed garden hat as I burn within 10 minutes regardless of how much sunscreen.

Never.. I get 'hat hair' really easily.
Having said that, I will wear one when I'm gardening as the sun is really hot here.

I have a big noggin so hats are basically never about fashion. I have a Mutts baseball cap and a light purple one I wear for hiking or kayaking. Thankfully the last few years there have been cuter hats out in a unisex size. Womens ones don’t fit.

In the winter I have a few knit hats. My aunt loves to crochet so most are from her but that style doesn’t hold back the wind all the time so I still wear a few others occasionally.

My son spotted a trapper style hat in an outlet store several years ago and DH went for it. This kid still wears it even around the house when hes cold.

Great question timing since I am very excited about a hat I just bought. I have a few winter hats, knitted or wooly beret types that are great for day to day needs. But when it is super cold and I need to wear a hat under my parka hood to snow blow they are all terrible. The parka hood keeps pushing the cap forward over my eyes so I can’t see and I have to push it back in place every few minutes. But this week I bought a really comfy warm trapper hat with ear flaps and an adjusting chin strap that should work perfectly. It is butt ugly but if it stays in place, as it seems it will, I don’t care.

I have a cloche style straw hat that I wear if I am out walking where there is a lot of sun. I also have a few straw beach hats that I also wear in the hot sun if I have to be outside. The problem with hats is that you have to leave them on as they completely flatten your hair.
I get sick in the sun if it is directly on my head for any length of time, so I have resigned myself to the fact that hats are necessary.

I used to wear hats all the time when I commuted by public transport. Broad brims for summer, berets I'd knitted for winter. Now that I drive and am not working, I am barely outside for any length of time, so seldom need them, which is rather sad - I love hats.

I hate “hat head.” It’s why I don’t wear hats very often. Several years ago, a friend gave me a pair of ear muffs called Ear Grips that go around the back of my head. Those are my go-to in the winter.

Nope,I sure don't.I've never been a fan of any kind of hat.If the weather gets nasty,I might pull up my hood on my sweatshirt but that's about as close as I get.

I'm the opposite of many here - I don't like hoods at all. They don't stay up when it's windy and they cut off my peripheral vision.
i was also surprised how many people don't like hats. The winters get so cold here that wearing a hat really helps keep me warm especially if we have to shovel snow. And in summer a hat with a brim helps keep the sun off my face.

Yes, we don't get winters anywhere near that cold in most of Australia (freezing temperatures are rare outside the Alps or parts of Tasmania, and then almost only at night) but it's certainly cold enough to warrant a nice warm hat when you're outdoors any length of time! And as for summer, well, you'd be mad not to wear a sun hat. They're on sale in all the chemists at the moment (and make me regret the 90s, when there were hats that looked So Much Better than the dull or twee things around now. I used to go to Myer, one of our fancy department stores, and spend ages trying on hats for the fun of it. Now? Beige, black or navy. 🙄).
