mani mani Seriously though what are lamington, or pav, or savoury damper? I am not taking a long shot thinking they are foods as we are talking about foods. That is what is interesting to me how we take for granted something we think as the ' norm ' is not at all the ' norm ' elsewhere. Even here in the states there are different words depending on the state your in for the same thing. Example hoagie, grinder or sub.

Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert with a soft inside and fruit on top.

Lamingtons are small sponge cakes with chocolate and dessicated coconut coating. They may have a layer of jam inside.

Damper is a thick home-made bread.
All sound really delicious to me. Love home made bread. Fruits as desserts are my favorite I would probably even like a Lamington. I don't typically like cake but a little sponge cake is ok. Put chocolate and coconut on it and I'm in big time. Very cool ā¤ Thank you

Yah I was gonna type an apology on that. It STILL sounds funny to me though. You wouldnā€™t want to eat a heating duct either! šŸ¤£
Same word different meaning or different words for the same thing. That is one of the things that make language interesting. My husband knows Italian and sometimes I think I know what he is talking about and I'm waaay off.

I think Lamingtons are sometimes made with a raspberry coating rather than chocolate and still coated in coconut. That sounds like the raspberry Zingers without the creme filling.

Pavlova actually evolved over time in several countries. It is something that took off in Australia and New Zealand.

The surprising truth about pavlovaā€™s origins

You're right, I don't usually have the raspberry coating ones and had quite forgotten about them.

I know I am craving one and I don't need one. I am hoping it passes before tomorrow, so I don't have to fight the urge to go to the deli to get one of the good ones. I will probably lose that fight because I don't live that far from the deli.
I lost the battle. Had 1.5 bagels today.

I think you ate one for all of us, so thank you. Donā€™t worry I evened it out by having salad.ā€Damperā€™sā€ back story is it dampened down the appetite in the outback in between meals on those long, long treks. (On your way to finding a bagel šŸ˜¬).
