Good morning and Happy Whiskers Wednesday! :hellocat: Over the holidays our neighbor invited us for brunch and had a big basket of assorted bagels. I like eating bagels but don’t have them too often. My favorites are: 1) parmesan oregano, 2) asiago and 3) cinnamon raisin. I like the first two with cream cheese and chives and the third toasted with butter.

DO YOU LIKE BAGELS? WHICH ONES ARE YOUR FAVORITE ?

Maybe it's because of where I live but all bagels I've ever had were so incredibly dry! But if I do ever get one I love smoked salmon and cream cheese.
:yeah: :hearthrob:

when i lived in Ft. Lauderdale (home of the famous fart, haa!!!!), there was a shop that made the
best bagels. the owner was from Brooklyn and i had one almost daily.

I love bagels. There is a very old bagel shop in the next city. They have been there for about 100 years. Bagels made on premises. I remember when I was a little girl, and my dad would go there for bagels. A few times he slipped me in the back door-- When you could get fresh bagels, off hours-- only what was available. I remember watching the vats of boiling bagels, and the fresh ones, right out of the oven, cooling on racks. An old family recipe. The best I have ever had, and really, the only ones I eat. They used to be open 24/7... my dad told me, that when he was much younger, after a night out, they would stop there for a bagel!

My favorites: Egg, cinnamon raisin, blueberry, and plain.
And they originated the Pizza Bagel: a plain bagel, with a thin part of the top cut off, tomato sauce, cheese, oregano.. so good....

I have not had any for a while. I need to go there soon.

Love bagels! Only wish they were somehow low calorie - if they were, I'd eat them all the time. My favorites are definitely from NYC, but I will try other varieties. There's a shop nearby that make some wood fired ones with sourdough but they are a lot more bready - not very dense. Another shop has some pretty good ones but definitely more on the chef-y/gourmet side. Need to try them again. I like most flavors. Plain is my favorite for sandwiches. But I like an Everything. Cinnamon Raisin if with butter or plain cc. Yum yum yum. Now all I can think about is eating bagels! I'd probably go for a good bagel over a good doughnut.

I don't like them sweet. Any savory flavor is fine. Everything, onion, asiago, plain. I like plain cream cheese and a sliced tomato on top, but salsa is ok for a tomato substitute, and occasionally a (savory) flavored cream cheese works.

I don't believe I've ever met a bagel that I didn't love! Not especially picky as to what's on them either, although I must say my favorite is an everytthing with lox, cream cheese, capers and a slice of tomato, toasted or not

You got It. Vat has to be on premises. 24/7 is magic. Back door? How do I get the secret password?

Please believe me when say this….

I LOVE BAGELS!!! 🥯

Seriously.

My favorite are any cheese ones, cranberry, rye, pumpernickel, Old Bay, jalapeño… basically any bagel. I’ll choose savory before sweet. I like them with cream cheese, almond butter (on sweet ones), butter, or as an egg sandwich. Its all good! :yummy:

I had never had a bagel until I was in college. They had them at the college cafeteria premade with pastrami and cream cheese. Delicious but not very fresh I think now because they were incredibly tough to chew. It wasn’t until years later when I had my first non college bagel and discovered how wonderfully soft they were.
