Good morning! It's a nice and sunny day in Michigan! I hope to get outside and work in the garden this afternoon.

Here's today's Question Of The Day!

Do you have a favorite author?

My favorite author is Lee Child. He writes mystery/thriller type books. I actually joined his website so I could get early notification for his new releases. I absolutely love his books!

I go in spurts for reading, and I have too many "favourites" to list! Right now I'm trying to read my way through everything that Alexander MacCall-Smith has written.
And I love Wally Lamb!

I don't have one favorite author.

Janet Evanovich (Stephanie Plum series), Laurell K. Hamilton (Anita Blake series), Kim Harrison (Rachel Morgan series), Joanne Fluke (Hannah Swanson series), Diane Mott Davidson (Goldie series), Carole Nelson Douglas (Midnight Louie series), Shirley Rousseau Murphy (Joe Grey series), Carolyn Haines (Sarah Booth Delaney series), Charlaine Harris (Southern Vampire series), Christine Feehan (Dark series....Carpathian)

Lilian Jackson Braun, Rita Mae and Sneaky Pie Brown, Stephen King, Clive Cussler (huge Cussler fan), Mary Kay Andrews, etc.

I could go on and on. I love to read.

James Patterson without a doubt is my favorite author. I enjoy his books so much and can't wait for him to write another and another
He is also a mystery writer and a lot of scary stuff to boot. Whenever I bring a new book of his home to read it feels like Christmas
Just love this author.

I really don't have a favorite author, though I read all the time from every different genre. The only multiple works I've read are series authors like JK Rowling and Stephenie Meyer. I'm reading all of Elizabeth Gilbert's books right now, so I suppose you could say her for the moment.

Two of my friends are also Fluke fans, as are my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, too. I finished Apple Turnover about two weeks ago...it was good. (Made me hungry for apple turnovers, though!)

Winchester, I see you're another fan of the urban fantasy genre
It's one of my favorite genres as well..
I have to say I enjoy Charlaine Harris' books the most. I think next month is when another Sookie book comes out and I am so excited!!
I also like Kelley Armstrong, though her books tend to get long, and I do like her stories but not her style of writing as much as CH's
Another one I love is Diana Gabaldon, I think she is a really good writer, but her stories develop a bit too slowly for me ...
LOL I am pointing out drawbacks even in my favorites...I can never be 100% satisfied with anything I read..

Caleb Carr and Boris Akunin.

I love to read and these are the only two authors that I remember their names and look for any new books they release.

Jasper Fforde is an interesting author also. I don't really like "series" authors. But his first few books were highly entertaining. Very original!

I got really addicted to Shakespeare in high school and still love him. I enjoy Poe and Sylvia Plath and Dickinson. Those really dark writers. I don't read as much as I used to, I have a hard time staying focused on any book. However, I do read everything about cats that I can get my hands on...that's my fave subject!!!

James Patterson, Luanne Rice, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, and Jodi Picoult. I pretty much stick to those authors, but I read a different one now and then when it looks interesting.

I'm a big fan. I love the Sookie series, not so much TrueBlood (I watched the first season on DVD), but I do like the books very much.

I just finished reading Grave Secret with Harper and Tolliver. Harper was struck by lightning and can now find out what killed people.

My favorite is Laurell Hamilton. I really like the Vampire Executioner series, although lately the books seem to be bordering on soft porn. They're still a good read though.

I'll check out Kelley Armstrong and Diana Gabaldon. I really enjoy Christine Feehan, but her plots seem to go very slowly, too. Thanks for the heads-up on the authors.

If you haven't read the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison, check them out.

Rita Mae Brown & Sneaky Pie Brown, Parnell Hall, Sue Grafton, (now reading U is for Undertow), Harlan Coben, Janet Evanovich, Shirley Rosseau Murphy, that's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there is more.

I real alot so I don't have a real favorite. I recently discovered T.L. Hines and love his books (noir bizarre). I also love Harlan Corben, Kathy Reichs (books so much better than the TV series). Loved Patrica Cornwell in her prime - her last book I didn't bother to finish. David Baldacci, the Kellermans, Tess Garritsen, Navada Barr, Dana Stabenow's Liam series. I just discovered Linwood Barclay and have read all his. Told ya I didn't have a fave
