Greetings! Happy Tuesday everyone! 🌼

When it comes to travel, many often talk about what is the most overrated sites or locations to visit and thus not worth going. Let's talk about the opposite. In your opinion....

What famous place IS worth visiting?

The Colosseum, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius (Do climb to the top!). Yup I enjoyed them immensely! Recommend if you haven't yet 👍

The site of the Battle of Little Bighorn was very moving, ditto Gettysburg. Acropolis by full moon. Worth getting to Kathmandu at sunrise.

The Amtrak train trip from Denver to Salt Lake. You ride up and then literally through the Rocky Mountains, going where there are no roads, just beautiful wilderness. It’s only a half day trip and very inexpensive.

I guess it depends on why you are visiting. For me it was the Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany. I am a history buff and have taste that are a little different, probably would not make most people's list.

MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles : The Falls are nice, but the Canadian side is better
game misconduct game misconduct : The Hall is great if you are a hockey fan. I mean, you can get up close and personal with the Cup, after all.
For myself, it would be Athens, and the Acropolis. To actually walk where Plato, Socrates, Pericles, and Alexander the Great walked is something else.

I agree that Pompeii is totally worth it!

Buenos Aires! I wasn't expecting much because it was just a stop on the way to Antarctica (also worth it), but it was beautiful and the food was amazing! Highly recommend!

I've very easily impressed, so I have enjoyed all of our travels.
A couple places I'll mention that come to mind:
The Grand Place in Brussels. You have to see it at night.
CN Tower, Toronto
Crown Jewels in London, Tower of London, London in general was so much fun. I was very impressed with the part of a Roman wall still standing.

So many places but the ones that comes to mind right now are Provence, France or Tuscany, Italy. I'd love to visit both.

There are lots of places I think may be worth seeing, but I'm only mentioning the ones I've been to and I think definitely are. :)

Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Stonehenge
The Amalfi Coast (I had the best time exploring here over two weeks)
The Great Wall of China
The Forbidden City - Bejing
The Li Jiang river trip - Guilin
