What were some of your favorite lunches at school?

I always loved when we had French toast sticks. Now as an adult I buy them all the time. I actually had some for dinner because I just felt like. I also liked hot ham and cheese, pizza, and Italian dunkers.

When I was in elementary school we went home for lunch. In high school everyone loved the cafeteria's giant butter cookies so I honestly don't remember eating anything else.

My first elementary school used to serve this meat in gravy that was probably beef. Basically a slab of lunch meat with mashed potatoes and gravy. Being first and second graders we were not allowed to used knives so the lunch ladies would come around and cut our food for us. I remember it being super tender (we probably could have used the side of our forks) and I loved it. I decided I wanted to be either a doctor or a lunch lady so I could cut my own meat. I am not very glad to be neither! I don't remember much about my next elementary school's lunches.

My middle school had a "bagged lunch" option that was a quicker line to go through; so I always got those. The weirdest thing was all the milk and juice came in clear pouches. You could either stab it with a straw or bite off the corner. It tasted SO good and they kept them in a big tub of ice water so they were nice and COLD COLD.

High school; oh we had it good! There was a salad bar with AMAZING rolls. When the roll lady retired they really went down hill. There would be pizza once a week or so too. And once a month they turned it into a baked potato bar. It was AMAZING.

When I was in high school, our cafeteria served some of the best fries and gravy! YUM! Otherwise the occasional pepperoni pizza my family had as leftovers was pretty good :)

I went to a small school many years ago so everything was cooked from scratch. We usually had yeast dinner rolls and once a week we had from scratch cinnamon rolls. In the fall there was also apple crisp.

I brown-bagged it all through school, so my lunch consisted of one PB&J sandwich, one bologna and cheese sandwich, and an apple, although every now and again there were grapes instead of the apple. That, and the half-pint of milk that cost three cents.

In high school, I remember the cafeteria selling huge warm chocolate chip cookies for 10 cents after 2nd period. I would always grab one on my way to class. A million years ago. Go Mendon Vikings!!

My high school had really good spicy chicken sandwiches and cheese pizza.

But all through school the best lunch was pasta bar. It was just bowtie noodles, ground beef, and cheese sauce. But it sure was yummy.
