Believe me, you have my sympathies on your back condition. Back in early '84, I started having back pain, but just took some Tylenol for it and kept on. Then, one morning at work, I started for the office to see if there were any work orders for the trucks. I think I made about 3 steps when my right leg just collapsed and down I went. Still, I got up and went about my business, but there was that constant pain. This went on for several months before Michele practically dragged me to see an orthopedic surgeon from the hospital where she worked. He checked me over and said I had at least one blown out disc, whereupon he referred me to a neurosurgeon. The myelogram revealed two blown out discs, so almost exactly 40 years ago I had surgery, but not spinal fusion. Rather, he went in and basically just cleaned out the material that had leaked out of the discs, but left the fibrous material behind. The point is; here I thought I was being a big baby, until I found out that, yeah, there really was a problem.I went last month. I had an MRI appointment today but my back hurt so much that I could not walk upright. I was almost relieved when a rep from their office called to say the machine was down.
My reaction to pain is sickness, so now I am nauseous and wish I had gone to my family doctor today. I don't know if I posted this, but I went to an appointment at another facility last month and their machine had been down eight days. That one was at 0530. Nobody was there! It was quite a ways from my house.
What is it with me and MRI machines? I am breaking them from afar? What's really going on? Anyway, I got a blessing today. It was at a closer facility, but I don't think I could have made it to the end of my country road. And DH drives me.
One other thing. Professional courtesy comes in handy at times.
