I really hate it when my drink gets watered down, so I prefer no ice.
I drink mostly water or iced tea. Those are really hard to water down. But I guess if it's in soda then it would be a problem.

1) The last slice in a loaf of bread - "the last one"
2) The thing you use to switch TV channel - the "moat" control. Inside family joke. We call it the remote too
3) Melted cheese on top of toasted bread -toast with cheese (my favourite!)
4) The place you put shopping at the rear of the car - Trunk, sometimes belly)
5) What do you call a carbonated beverage ? - it depends. We like saying fizzy juice but if it is a specific drink like coka cola, we call it coke/pop

  1. The heel
  2. Remote
  3. Cheesetoast
  4. Trunk
  5. Soda - My cousins from upstate NY call it pop. I like that and I use it sometimes now. I mean, it takes twice as much effort to say soda, and I am a minimalist!

1 The last slice in a loaf of bread
2 The thing you use to switch TV channel
3 Melted cheese on top of toasted bread
4 The place you put shopping at the rear of the car
5 What do you call a carbonated beverage ?
1) "that which is to be avoided". But really, the end piece. The crust is on every piece.
2) the remote (control)
3) grilled cheese? My mom would make this open faced thing where we would make an X out of bacon on bread and cover it with a slice of cheese and pop it in the toaster oven and called it delicious. Also "that bread with the cheese and bacon".
4) the trunk
5) it's called pop.

What's the road that runs beside the freeway and has entrance ramps? Feeder road.

Do you go uptown or downtown? We go downtown.

The place they show films? Movie.

A long bun full of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc.? A sub.
Frontage road (and they go on the ramp to the expressway, not a freeway), downtown, movie theater, sub sandwich.

1. Am I the only one who lives where we call the last slice of bread "the end?"
Nope!

Does anyone else say front room pronounced "frunchroom" for the main gathering area/living room? I have had out of towners really confused by that.

1 The last slice in a loaf of bread
Either the crust or the heel

2 The thing you use to switch TV channel
The remote

3 Melted cheese on top of toasted bread
Done properly, it's a rarebit. If it's just some melted cheese on top of a slice of toast, then it's melted cheese on toast

4 The place you put shopping at the rear of the car
The trunk

5 What do you call a carbonated beverage ?
A soda

Don't mean to hijack the thread but what do you call your parents, grandparents, etc.?
My parents-Mom and Dad
My paternal grandparents-Grandma and Grandpa
My maternal grandparents-Grandma and Papap

I'm not really clear on where "Papap" came from. Mom's entire family uses it.
