What technology, business, or item in general do you think will become obsolete within the next 10 years?

Personally, I don't think that hard copies of reading material like newspapers, fax machines, and wired land lines will be around. I have not seen a phone book in several years, or a book of maps although I think that those are still sold.

Gasoline cars. Ford is going electric only. We'll see if they can really do it!

I hope we can get rid of all paper important documents & cards soon! I would love to go completely digital, no debit card, birth certificate, license, registration, etc! That would be awesome to just have it all on our phone only!

I think hard copy newspapers have almost disappeared so I think they will be completely gone. Physical offices will continue to disappear, they won't become completely obsolete, there will still be medical offices. Imagine if they could do away with the BMV. I only go every 4 years for my driver's license renewal, they now have 8 year licenses for those under 65. If they could come up with a secure way to take a vision test online I wouldn't have to go at all. I don't think that is possible though because there are people that would have someone else take the test for them.

Passports too! Though I do adore those stamps for different countries.

In 10 years, I don't think a lot will change in terms of things becoming obsolete. I think physical event or transportation tickets will be eliminated and solely on phones. Also landlines will be gone. I think few large shopping malls will exist.

Not all communities have DMV's. For Driver's license Renewal, Testing and License plates I go to the County Courthouse.

Wouldn't be surprised if the remote control would be obsolete. We are already peeking into using voice activation and having our remote on the smartphone. Maybe eventually activation through motion activiation as well. Probably not anytime soon, but who knows in a few years.

Physical keys in some regard. Keys have been around for thousands of years so can't imagine they will disappear for good, but I reckon some keys will taper off. A lot of people are using digital codes for their houses for instance.
