I came across this question on Facebook awhile back and was surprised at the number and intensity of the responses. I have since noted that there are lots of online sources/videos which will help if this is something that concerns you.

Do you fold fitted sheets?

I don't mean do you do something with them so that they fit in the linen cabinet, but do you actually have a procedure for folding them neatly and precisely?

Apparently I have let the side down badly, as it never even occurred to me in my entire life to actually fold a fitted sheet.

Pursuing this line of thinking, do you iron sheets when they come out of the laundry?

And the finale, do you make the bed daily?

I don't do either of those. I have a friend who does all three and was horrified to find out what a loose operation I am running.

Most of the time, Rick and I fold our sheets together; it makes it easier. If he's not around and I have sheets, I take them back to the bed, straighten them out on the bed, and fold them back there before putting them in the laundry closet.

I NEVER iron sheets!

I do make the bed...if the cats aren't napping there, that is.

Yes, I fold fitted sheets after they are out of the dryer.

Yes, I straighten out the bed every morning before I go downstairs.

No, I no longer iron sheets. I had learned from a friend who ironed the large top hem only. I also used to iron pillow cases. Another thing that has slipped away with time. It was very nice, the first night with freshly ironed pillow cases on the bed . . . if I start again I'll let you know.

I like my sheets folded neat and tidy before I put them away.My Mom taught me how to fold the fitted bottoms so it's not a problem.Never have ironed a sheet ever and probably never will.I do make the bed every morning. The cats don't always approve but they can always get back on it when I'm done.

I have never ironed a Sheet, nor plan to start that practice. I do though fold "Top Sheets " neatly coming out of the dryer. Fitted Bottom are folded less percise.
I rarely make a bed.

I fold strictly so they can be put away! Neatly if possible. It's hard with King size sheets.

I have never ironed sheets like my grandma! I wouldn't know how to manage keeping them off the floor and that would automatically make them dirty to DH. And no I didn't know that about him before I married him

I make the bed by neatly pulling everything up and straightening the pillows.

I never figured out how to fold fitted sheets at all, never mind neatly! These days I don’t bother. Sheets off the bed, washed, dried in the tumble dryer, and they go back on the bed. I have one spare set bundled in the top of my wardrobe. Ironing sheets was never a thing in my family and I don’t own an iron (or have any flat surfaces to substitute for an ironing board, or any room to store either). Making the bed is just straightening the sheet and covers, no big deal.

No, yes & I want to…it’s something to do with tucking one corner INSIDE the other one, then flipping it, but it always looked like a jarbled mess when I do it. :dunno:

Yes I fold my fitted sheets immediately after removing from the dryer.
Yes I iron only the hems on my flat sheets because they get crinkled up if I don't.
Yes I make my bed daily.

I learned how to fold fitted sheets by the housekeeper at my church rectory where I worked one summer as a teenager. She was very picky about correctly folding linens and making the bed properly. Good Housekeeping-How to Fold a Fitted Sheet is the method I learned and is quicker than me explaining it in words.

I do not have a spare fitted sheet, so no folding.
I have never ironed sheets of any size, flat or fitted.
I try to make my bed most days ... I just have to beat Pandora's return to the bed to accomplish the task because if she comes back to the bedroom and gets into the bed again before I do ... I am not disturbing the little princess cat.

I don't really fold them. I fold them in half then roll them into tight sausage and pop 'em in the linen closet..

What is this 'ironing' you speak of?

When I was a kid, I used to (okay.. was EXPECTED to) make my bed. As an adult, I don't bother. Most times I don't even sleep with a blanket, so there's nothing to 'make' :) .

I also fold a fitted sheet before putting it in the linen closet but trust me, it's not perfect. I have never ironed a sheet in my life and never will. However, I always make the bed every day. I hate the thought of getting into an unmade bed at night.

I "fold" fitted sheets, meaning, I go through the folding motions and make sure I place the flat sheet on top so it looks like they're equally neat!
I have never ironed sheets in my life (the dryer has a permanent press setting that does a good iron job for me). I don't make the bed daily, but, I do tend to straighten it every morning. Every now and again I'll make it very precisely, but not often.

No. When I did I pretty much just did the best I could and shoved them in. Now I have two sets of sheets, put one on put the other in the laundry. When I do laudry, switch them. Works well

Yes, I do fold fitted sheets if I am storing them, but about 2/3 of the time they go right from the laundry back onto the bed. The only time I have taken my iron out in the last couple years is when I am sewing and hemming something so nope, no ironing sheets. And yes, I do sort of make my bed every day. Not as neat as when company is coming though.

- I casually fold them so that they are tidy enough but I don't do anything special or have tricks. Doesn't need to be perfect.
- No I don't feel the need to iron bed sheets
- I was never the type to really do my bed daily (I make the bed nicely when I change the sheets) but my BF likes to make the bed regularly.
