Hi all, posting here at around 0400 EST. I am as curious as say, oh I don't know, a cat? I love a good mystery, but even more I would love to learn the answer to many mysteries throughout history. What really happened aboard the Mary Celeste? What about the crash at Roswell? Did Lee Harvey Oswald really act alone? Who came across the first 🍉 and said, "Look at this horrible, disgusting thing. I shall call it a watermelon and take it home for my family to eat for brunch!" Yeah, I don't know what he was thinking, either. But I would really like to personally thank him for all the pool parties I went to where someone would inevitably say, "I brought a watermelon."

My QODs get super long sometimes, don't they?

Everyone would probably assume the questions I would want the answer to concern the Bermuda Triangle or Area 51.

I don't mean to sound morbid, but what I would like to know the most is who murdered Jon Benet Ramsey. I would like to see that case solved and justice prevail for that poor little girl. I don't think anyone will ever know the truth, except the killer or killers because the investigation was so badly botched.

So the wonderful minds of TCS are going to solve this for you nurseangel nurseangel  (I shouldn't laugh.. it's a horrible crime, but I'm impressed that you have so much faith in us)
I don't have a clue as we didn't really follow this over in Australia to any great degree.

I've always really wondered what happened to our Prime Minister Harold Holt, who went swimming and never returned.
And also why on earth they thought it was appropriate to name a swimming pool after him!

mani mani I hope so! I am almost certain I know what happened to the Lost Colony. I've always wanted to go to the outdoor drama, but I have heard it is long and the seating is uncomfortable. I fear my back won't allow it now.

I was just reading about former Prime Minister Holt. I wasn't aware of him until now. Didn't another politician die under mysterious circumstances while walking with his Great Dane on the beach? I may be thinking Australia when it was really South Africa? I need to look it up.

I don't think the murder of Jon Benet will be solved. I think it was a stranger crime which are the hardest to solve. She was in child beauty pageants which means that any violent pedophile could have become obsessed with her. The combination of the botched investigation and DNA forensics being in its infancy makes it impossible.

Where did Amelia Earhart go down? There have been searches done for her plane but it hasn't been found. I just saw that a search team thinks it might have found it but no proof yet. That may turn into something that won't be solved. It was a small plane and it has been so many years, the plane will eventually be completely destroyed by time and the ocean.

There are a lot of mysteries extant, some never to be solved. Personally, the Bermuda Triangle isn't one of them, as I have sailed through it three times, once during a hurricane, and I'm still here.
A couple of others, though:
What happened to Judge Crater?
What happened to the Iron Mountain, a Mississippi River steamboat that sailed around a bend of the river and disappeared without a trace in 1872?
Was the CIA really involved in the assassination of JFK?
Was former Teamsters Union president Jimmy Hoffa really murdered and buried under Giants Stadium?

* The 1980's Tylenol murders that occured before we had tamper resistant packaging
*The Elizabeth Short Case ( The Black Dahlia)
* The University of Iowa Murders : the trial keeps getting delayed. If the guy they have does not get convicted it will harder after the time that has gone by to find another suspect.

N NY cat man I have been over the Bermuda Triangle numerous times on planes and ships. Nothing happened. But I think there is still something strange going on there. Not necessarily paranormal, maybe a magnetic pull or rogue waves. Isn't that where the Cyclops went down?

Everyone is giving me new things to look at. I don't know who Judge Crater was, but I am about to look him up. Same with the Iron Mountain.

IzzysfureverMom IzzysfureverMom the Elizabeth Short case is fascinating. I saw a man on a TV program who was convinced his dad killed her. I don't think we'll ever know.

Judge Crater disappeared in 1930. He was a New York State Supreme Court judge.
There was more than one Iron Mountain. One was launched in 1872, and sank in the Ohio River in 1882. The other disappeared with 55 passengers and crew in 1872. An obscure event, but then I read a lot of obscure stuff.

Unfortunately there are way too many unsolved crimes.

From what I have heard and read Natalie Wood was deathly afraid of water and would not have voluntarily gotten in water, it had something to do with a childhood incident. She was however on a lot of medications. Not from doctor shopping but it was the times. Medications for anxiety and insomnia were different then and more freely given as long-term solutions. That means she could have been dizzy, dazed, disoriented and fell overboard.

I watch so many true crime and mystery shows it's hard to pick a favorite. There is one that happened many years ago in my home town. The younger sister of one of my classmates was murdered. The case hasn't been mentioned in years. I think that would be my choice if I had to make one,

There are several crimes in the last two decades that are frustratingly unsolved. A few that are of missing people whose cases are unsolved are Maura Murray, Leah Roberts, and Joshua Guimond (my uncle has worked in law enforcement in and around where he went missing and also for the university he went to school at, so he has some inside information regarding this). Then for unexplained deaths or murders Missy Bevers and Rey Rivera are both very confusing and mysterious cases.

Morbid yes, but I would want to know what really happened with the Dyatlov Pass incident. I can see the hikers dying from hypothermia, but, usually that doesn't include bodies missing various parts...

How could I forget Alcatraz! Having worked in a prison, I know how devastating an escape is, for the staff, the community, the victim or victims, and the families of the inmates because the are concerned that their loved one will be hurt or killed. It's a nightmare. But would it be terrible to say that I like to think the Alcatraz inmates beat the odds and made it to safety?

So do I, and many other cases.

The daughter of a friend of my father was kidnapped and murdered; but they were never able to recover her body. It would be a big blessing to have her remains located for a proper burial.

I find the stories about missing jewels and artwork fascinating. We love the show The Curse of Oak Island too. Its really interesting to see what they uncover. Hopefully they will find the truth.
