Do you like kitchen gadgets?

I do! An As Seen on TV commercial has me running for the credit card. I have gotten some really neat things on there, including a pan that would cook a meatloaf and potatoes on top of the stove. I have also bought some not so great things, such as a food chopper that was very small, wouldn't cut vegetables and would slide right out of your hand, exposing the razor sharp blades that for whatever reason wouldn't cut vegetables. Fortunately, I guess, I bought it after it hit the stores. I was amazed that it got good ratings online. Yeah, someone got paid to give it those great reviews. :rolleyes2:

Have I already asked this question? I feel as if I did. Well, I still stand firm with the gadgets.

I avoid kitchen gadgets. My sister loves them... All I need is a regular microwave and a streak knife and I'm good to go, LOL! I haven't used a stove in... oh... 10 years? I also have an air fryer, which I use periodically, but it was a gift from my mom and sister so I'm expected to use it at least sometimes, LOL! :)

…that being said, it’s fun to ogle gadgets. Those mini pizza ovens look cool; my magpie eye is drawn to that thingy that peels an apple in one long strip.

When I was younger i used to go to all the kitchenware parties, e.g. Pampered Chef, Tupperware, etc. But now that the kids are grown and it's just DH and myself I'm not really into kitchen gadgets. I have my favorite recipes and occasionally buy a new frying pan or cookie sheet but that's about it. However, DH and I were at a store yesterday and they were doing a demo of the Cuisinart sandwich maker which caught my husband's eye. I told him, "wait until the holidays."

neely neely a demo! You walked your DH away from a demo! :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

As you can see, I am a little surprised. 'Wait for the holidays.' What does that mean? What could it possibly mean? :spew: Remember, Christmas in July? Because the real Christmas is five months away. Five months!

I used to be but not anymore. I haven't been to it in years, don't even know if it is still there but there is a Tangiers Outlet mall close to Columbus. I have been there a couple of times several years ago and they had a As Seen on TV store. I didn't go in.

I just got finished using and old fashioned hand crank rotary mixer the was my Grandma's to make instant pudding.

I don't have the counter space for a lot of trendy appliances. But I do have a Kitchen Aid mixer and a Vitamix blender. Even if I use them once a year they are worth the high price.

I lean towards less gadgets but there are some I do love. My Kuhn Rikon jar opener is a 10 of 10 when it comes to gadgets. But I also love my hand chopper, Mouli grater and Cuisine Art hamburger patty containers. I do not like big gadgets like bread bakers, air fryers, rice cookers. I don’t have the space or a real need for them.

Yes but I do try to have some self control. Some end up way more useful than expected. Some do not.

I was so excited to get an instant pot a few years ago; then SO intimidated to try it. So I haven't gotten an air fryer yet. But the little, more affordable gadgets... those are harder to resist!

I do a lot of cooking so some things I view as necessarily in my kitchen: Microplane graters and zester, a mandoline for paper thin slicing and good knives. I bought a salad spinner thinking I might get some use of it but use it a lot more then expected.Other items I use all the time are a KitchenAid stand mixer with certain extra attachments and a Vitamix high speed blender and Oster glass jar blender. Other then regular pots and pans I have a nice wok.

I love the air fryer! It makes the best corn on the cob. I made "hard boiled eggs" in it one time. Then, someone (DH are you reading this? Didn't think so!) threw away the instruction/recipe book! I am still in shock! I even have an air fryer cookbook, but the eggs will longer turn out correctly. Everything was specific to that air fryer! It was an inexpensive one I purchased with the money I earned online. I even bought a set of tongs to take out the hot eggs! Tongs! Now I use them to take the eggs out of the pot of boiling water.

I'm fascinated by a lot of them, but I don't buy them. I don't have a big kitchen so I don't have the space for a lot of stuff. I did just buy an Instant Pot though.

It means by December he'll either forget about it or find some other kitchen gadget he likes better,
