Happy Weekend!

What would your favorite ride be at an amusement park?

With me, it's always the roller coaster. We've always been avid coaster fans.

At Disneyland as a kid, I loved the Teacups. Spinning around does not bother me, but heights does.

A ride we went on at a county fair about 20 or so years ago. I don't recall its name, but the seats were arranged like bleachers, and there were 4 rows of them. I also don't recall how many seats there were in a row, but it was something like 15 or so. There was a large arm at either end, and the whole was like an extra wide ferris wheel. It would rotate faster and faster, then the arms would stop, and the seat assembly would spin forward about 3 times, then they would repeat the process, only in reverse, then forward again. It was a hoot.

I have never been much for the fast or high rides. I don't like heights, though I was never bothered by flying. I have always been prone to vertigo though I haven't become seasick. It's the fast-spinning type rides that do it to me. I am generally not much for amusement parks though I did take the kids. I am more a fair person for the exhibits and of course I indulge in some fair food.

Gobbler Getaway at Holiday World. All amusement parks should have such a ride (air conditioned!)

I really like Holiday World--drinks and sunscreen are available all over the park for free.

When I was a kid I loved the Tilt-A-Whirl. I went to Great America with a large group of people when I was in my 30's and rode a bunch of rides that I wouldn't dare go on now. One of the guys was praying and another thought he crapped in his pants. :flail:

Yeah, the Tilt-a-Whirl was my favourite when I was a teenager. Now I don go anywhere near fairgrounds. Closest I get is walking past the big carousel on the beachfront here.

There was this oooold ride they had called the Roter. You laid back against the walls of a metal upright barrel and the floor dropped as you started to spin. You could change your position while it spun - people did amusing things. Then you'd slowly slide down the wall as the spinning slowed down. There's a newer version of this called that Gravatron, but it's a poor alternative, LOL!

I haven't been to an amusement park in decades, but I loved roller coasters, anything fast really, and pendulum rides. I also like the log flume and the river rapids rides too.
