Happy Weekend!

I was working on a list of things to do to deep-clean the house next month. (I like making lists and I like checking things off.) It's been a while as I was dealing with other stuff this year. Things kept getting a "lick and a promise" to do better at some point later on. I like a nice, clean house, but just didn't have the energy to get it done. Some of the tasks I've set for myself: Wash down the kitchen cabinets; deep-clean the kitchen floor; wash all windows inside and out (even if I'm the one on the ladder to do the outsides); do a thorough dusting, not just a quick swiffer, Bona all the floors in the house, wash all the lamp globes, etc. It needs to be done and I've set aside September to get some serious cleaning done.

How often do you deep-clean your house or apartment? Do you do spring cleaning? Fall cleaning? Is every cleaning a deep-cleaning?

Never enough. Things get cleaned regularly; but those deep cleans often happen when I spontaneously have the time and energy. I got some long awaited tasks done in early summer; but the rest of the summer was a wash while I've had to handle some other things. Some stuff is done annually based off holiday preparations. Like I will get the tops of my cabinets done just before I put up my fall lights and decor; which transitions to Christmas decor. DH is much better at this than I am. He has a perpetual to do list. I am his balance reminding him to sit and rest sometimes!

DH and I did spend the day working in our garage though. I tossed a lot of old school papers and condensed some totes of things to keep. We probably need another day to finish but this was good. My FIL is ageing and has been in the hospital this week. (In another state.) His house is full and well...lets just say I have quietly sympathized with everyone here when they've posted about having to clean out a house that hadn't seen a deep cleaning in decades. :disappointed:

I don't know that deep cleaning out here means the same thing as in parts of the country or world where houses have to be closed up for winter. I do lots of laundry, by choice, including the cats' beds, throws, and pillows weekly. Bathrooms and kitchen are cleaned weekly and floors are done, but they are also swiffered daily. I love to get rid of things I don't need, so am always in the process of throwing out or taking something to a charity. Less stuff sitting around makes cleaning easier, too.

In my decline I don't really clean much. I have a cleaner that comes every two weeks. Some times she does more than others like windows (not too often) and wipes down the cabinets.

Since it's just me it's not too hard to keep things neat.

I try to tidy up daily but an actual deep clean is not planned. It happens when the mood strikes me. I used to be a neat freak but once we adopted our dog cleaning went out the window, e.g. dirty paws, fur shedding, messy food and water bowls, etc. This was actually a good thing because it cured me from being a neat freak and I learned to live in the moment. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying my house is a mess just not as neat as in the past. 😉

I do Spring and Fall cleaning, with moving EVERYTHING and everything is cleaned, and tossing or donating items that that are not used. Bathrooms get cleaned every week as well as bedrooms and sheets. Cat blankets and beds are also cleaned every week. Kitchen countertops and stove are cleaned daily and floors sweep daily and Bona once a week more if needed.

I used to deep clean every weekend but now it's once a month. Usually the last weekend of the month so the following weekend, all I have to do is a quick clean and then decorate for the next season or holiday. I deep cleaned pretty much my entire main floor today from ceiling fans to baseboards. Just got on a roll and didn't want to stop.

Exactly what I do! :)

I love a nice clean house but I don't have the energy to do the deep cleaning very often. I am trying to get back to clearing out a lot of stuff we don't really need. I started it a couple years ago but lost motivation, I need help

I like a clean house as it helps me to think & I am less likely to lose things…so not sure deep cleaning is any different than my day to day cleaning.

I give my house a pretty thorough cleaning at least once a month, maybe not quite a deep clean though. I’m a neat freak and I try to keep things spotless, but that’s pretty difficult with all of these kitties😸
