Good morning.

:wave3:

Another cat related question today.

What human food does your cat find irresistible?

I'm a vegetarian, so I don't eat a lot of things the cats are interested in, but a few of mine go nuts for dairy products.

Fynn tries to jump into the fridge every time I open it. He and his "big sisters" Lizzie and Freya will do anything for cheese or butter.

Forest Cat loves mayonnaise. It's very easy to pill him, just crush up a tablet in a blob of the stuff and he'll take it.

A couple of the others like these icky strips of dried squid that Japanese people eat as beer snacks. They smell really strong, a few of them have been known to open the cupboard and rip them out of the packets.

:rolleyes3:

How about your cats? What do they love?

our DeeDee loves margarine! :nono: i have no idea why, but i always need to keep and eye out for her when i have the margarine container out and open on the kitchen counter. she also is very interested in the mac and cheese, when i heat it up in the microwave.

Punky was interested in the fresh duck eggs, spent some time smelling them. :dunno:

our Dude really isn't interested in people food :headshake:, although if he saw one of the girls enjoying something he would likely try it.

Cheese. The sharper the better. She can't eat it though because she will vomit within 10 minutes of having it. :(

The only thing mine at least as adults showed an interest in is yogurt. When Patches was a kitten he liked ice cream but he lost interest in it as he got older. There was a period of time when he was a kitten when I didn't buy chocolate ice cream so Patches could have a little bit.

JC goes nuts for ham and braunschweiger. I swear she can tell the difference between the sound of a package of either of those and a package of anything else.

Grischa is obsessed with cheese - any cheese, but especially cheddar or parmesan. All three of them like it, but Grisch really does go nuts for it - it's a real challenge to eat anything cheesy with Grisch around
He also goes nuts for coffee! I never give him any, but coffee cups have to be closely guarded with him around. I do sometimes let him have a couple of licks inside the rim of an empty cup, though.

For some unknown reason, Asha is crazy about poppadoms  We only have them on the very rare occasion that we get an Indian takeaway, but she's right there begging when we do (and Asha NEVER begs!). I should point out that I know full well they're not good for kitties - Asha only gets a teeny taste ;) Asha likes butter too, but doesn't get any if I can help it (unless I've coated a pill with it to help it go down more easily). For some reason, she's also crazy for pistachios :confused2: (again, she only gets them if I'm not paying attention ).

Shenka is just obsessed with FOOD! He's a real bottomless pit of a cat, and wants almost any food that's going

I'm a vegetarian too, but my parents aren't. Unsurprisingly, all the cats adore chicken, turkey, salmon and tuna. Those are the main meats/fishes that get eaten here.

Artie goes crazy for deli cheese!! OMG.. and mild cheddar cheese!!
He literally crawls on my lap for some. Sometimes I literally have to push him out of my face! Lately, I have been just saying, "NO" a lot...

Yes, he takes after me~~ I love cheese!!

I'm also vegetarian so my cats were not interested in any of my food. When I was a kid I had a Manx that loved my mothers spaghetti and he went crazy over turkey every Thanksgiving. The last group of cats I had never but never ate any human food. I even baked them a turkey roast once and they would not touch it. Baxter once ate a cashew and he licked the salt of a potato chip once but that was all the human food they ever ate.

Everything. Everything.

Chocolate covered croissants (Suki junped on the table, snatched part of one off of a fork and hid under the table where she growled as she ate. We've learned our lesson--no more food on the table. Good thing that particular piece didn't have much chocolate)

Bread.(Willy found it in a purse and opened up the plastic bag that it was in)

Steak.

Chicken.

Those little coffee creamers. (They come running when they hear us opening them)

Milk. (Snake jumped on the table and drank from the cereal that was left unattended)

Everything.

We either have to escort the cats out onto the deck so we can eat, or we hide in another room while they prowl in the dining room.

I don't give Lelia human food, but she goes crazy when I cook bacon. Crazy. (Not that I can blame her, because, you know, bacon).

Of course, most cats like meat, cheese, milk, etc. If I'm eating any of that I can expect some company. But Hazel likes her carbs. If offered a cracker or some cheese, she'll take the cracker. Bread, chips, noodles, that's what she likes. Weirdo.

The cats we had in Japan loved squiddy bits! (That's what we called them, lol). Also those teensy dried fishes. And nori.

Bread, which he can't eat due to food allergies, and ham. There's very little he won't try to eat; he hates bananas, though, and turns up his nose at sardines or mackeral.

Lily loves anything salty - popcorn, potato chips, crackers, but she doesn't overeat any of them. Two or three and she's done. Mingo isn't interested in anything but cat treats, but he will go after whatever Lily is eating even if he doesn't like it.

I'm another vegetarian, so there isn't much yummy for Ruby to beg for. But she does love potato chips. :yummy:

Meat. Steak. Chicken. Turkey. Pork chops. They love it all grilled, broiled or baked. I deliberately cook mine without seasoning it so they can have some. Sophie loses her mind for steak most of all. She will sit in my lap and drool until she gets a bite. Lily's favorite is turkey and she will stand in the kitchen and holler until she gets hers. Lily also likes cheddar cheese. She only gets a tiny bit a few times a year but she loves it.

The only cat I have that likes odd stuff is Diamond. He sits on a stool and watches me in the kitchen. I would tell him "You won't like it," but he looked so fascinated that I would give him a little. I was surprised when he liked corn chips and peanuts! :clapcat: I don't tell him he won't like something anymore!

They all like bacon, but I don't feed them much of it. It is unfair to Diamond as he has a heart condition and I don't feed him salty foods, and it just kills him to see everyone else get bacon, or even smell it on their breath!:kitty:

Pickle always wants some of my sandwich, no matter what is in it.
Kiwi loves chicken and Buzz is hooked on tuna. He can hear a tin being opened from outside and speeds into the kitchen and dances on his hind legs until I give him a little.
