I’m waiting for DS to finish reading a short story so we can discuss it and wanting to go do more entertaining things. *Certain People* are being a bit much today so I’m gonna hold me tongue and put the phone down because its not actually that serious.
I’ve been preparing for DS’s braces this week and he basically has a box of food stuff just for him. So many suggestions we got are things he doesn’t typically like; like mashed potatoes. So I bought packets of instant ones with flavors like ranch or 4 cheese. I got yougrt smoothies. Cream of wheat. Spaghettios. Lipton noodle soups. Mostly convenience foods but hopefully more palatable than my typical lower sodium, lower saturated fat choices. Stuff we can throw in the nutribullet should be better. I’m praying I’m over preparing. I don’t normally consider him a truly picky eater though.
Are you a picky eater?
I definitely am not. I enjoy the experience of eating and trying new things. Trying to keep it within the ever changing definition of healthy eating is frustrating; but food is more than nourishment to me. Its a way to experience different cultures, engage with people around you and sometimes find comfort.
DD is fun to eat with because she will also try almost anything. DS is adventurous with seafood but not always everything else. As a baby he ate everything. Maybe this experience will help him step out to try more too.
