Am I the only one who feels shocked at how fast November is approaching!? I turned the heat on and put an extra blanket on the beds recently. We went kayaking this weekend for probably the last time this year. DH says he will hang the kayaks this weekend so I can park in the garage again. It really is easier to keep them on the trailer in the garage; but I'm ready to park inside again. At least until we pull all the Christmas totes from the attic in a month and THOSE take up my half of the garage again.
What are your "rules" for running your heat or air conditioner?
DH doesn't have climate control at work; so he likes the house to be comfortable. We usually turn the heat on when it's cold enough that we wake up to the house around 68 or so. Definitely by then. I turned the heat on last week because it was 69 in here; but i keep it at 70/71 at the most anyway. We need time to adjust so I'll probably turn it down a tad soon. DD has been enjoying her new fleece bathrobe. It's got a hood (with cat ears!).
We turn the AC on when it's around 76 in the house usually. Sometimes a little hotter. We generally keep it around there now too. Before we had kids we always kept the heat at 68 in the winter and the AC at 78. We keep the ceiling fans on most of the time anyway. But it is nice to be so comfortable in the house. I also turn it down a little while I work out. One of the vents blows right on my elliptical.
Now I'm debating when to pull the fleece sheets out. I like my smooth summer sheets. I'm not ready yet.
