I'm sitting here organizing my kid's Christmas wish lists and looking up prices. The lists aren't too bad this year. Except for DD asking for pepper spray and the Nintendo Switch DS asks for every year but has yet to get. That's more than I spend on him for everything without including games. :cringe: Our wii still works and I don't particularly like how he gets sucked into those games. He tends to get in trouble a lot when he has access to gaming a lot... So yeah; not a high priority on Santa's list yet. He also asked for a Garfield wall calendar for his bedroom. I thought he might like a daily one for his school desk but he wants it hanging in his room. And that's probably better for school distractions too. He's also a big fan of Mutts and Calving & Hobbes. And Peanuts. My calendar is right next to his desk too.

Do you still hang a wall calendar? What do you or would you choose for a theme?

I really like having a calendar up, changing it every month and just enjoying whatever is on it. I do really enjoy the comic calendars especially but I've done different things over the years. This year we have Simon's Cat up. I've done Pusheen, Mutts, Peanuts, the Thomas Kinkade Disney several times and occasionally a nature type theme. Last year I almost got a cool one with space telescope images. I'm also looking at the Pickles calendar this year because I love the relationship between Earl and his grandson Nelson. It reminds me of my Grandpa and I even though it's a grandson and grandfather. I keep a scripture calendar up in my dressing room too. I find little things like that are small pleasures that give me a little pick-me-up when I glance at them. Maybe I should get myself a desk calendar too. Even though I sit at the table.

I normally put up the calendars that the grandchildren make at school, but now they are a bit older they don't make them anymore. So last year's calendar was got for me by my youngest son. He went away to Turkey and asked if I'd like anything bringing back. I asked him to pick me up a charity one I'd seen online from a animal rescue. I haven't put one up this year but if I see one I like then I will. I like cute animal one's.

I love wall calendars and consider them to be something like changeable art. They are usually cats, or other animals, but once in a while have flowers or nature. We have them in various rooms because they get used for different purposes with appointments, social obligations, etc.

We have a magnetic dry erase calendar on our fridge.

My mom used to make shutterfly wall calendars with pictures of family for my grandparents and they always enjoyed that.

Yes I do hang a wall calendar by the door to the gargage. It is usually cat themed unless I get one free somewhere. I also have a small date book for my purse and a small paper desk calendar. I'm old school. I do know how to add appointments in my phone, but it's just too much hassle when I can grab a pen and jot it down.

I still hang and use a wall calendar, I like having the additional organization and I find it helps knowing each other's schedules - Whether for work, appointments etc

Not usually no. If I'm gifted one, I will hang it though. I think having one is beneficial for how I process my schedule so I should use one more regularly.

My brother walks his dog and socialises with a bunch of people in Tasmania.. they gather at the beach where they do the walking and have birthdays etc. Several years ago someone decided to make up a calendar with photos of them all and I've used that ever since. I go down there every year or so and know the people and the dogs, so it's a lovely memory calendar, and practical. I'm one of those people who still writes down appointments on them.
