Happy Belated Veteran's Day to those in the US.

The day got away from me again yesterday. I was even here! It wasn't a day off of school for us either.

Our weather seems to be changing finally. DS actually picked and ate a cherry tomato again this morning. I've got fresh blooms on my potted flowers in the backyard. I'm not complaining either! :redheartpump: The next few nights look cold so I might snip a few to bring inside for the kitchen window. I find having colorful flowers and suncatchers in the window does a lot to brighten my mood and lift my spirits in general. If I were a rich lady I'd have a little conservatory to grow myself flowers year round. Instead I'm sitting here debating putting on the flannel sheets today. :rolleyes2: I might even get to wear a sweatshirt around the house today. Or my oversized mens flannel that's also very cozy.:cloud9:

What kind of bedding do you prefer in the colder months vs warmer months? When do you change things out?

In the summer I want smooth, cotton sheets and my muslin blanket. In the winter I typically put soft flannel sheets on with a thick fleece blanket and a comforter. I put a new comforter on the bed over 2 layers of muslin blankets and my summer sheets a few weeks ago. I've been cold a few nights though so I'm not sure if it's the comforter, the muslin blankets, sheets or just ME right now.:rolleyes2: I'm always in and out of blankets regardless. DH sleeps hot and rarely uses every blanket so I'm not sure if he will be even more hot if I go put the flannel sheets on.

I typically just go by the weather for changing the seasonal bedding out. It seems like I wait to put on warmer sheets till we are having below freezing nights. But I wait for nights to be close to 60 in the spring before I want the summer sheets back. :dunno:

I've always used flannel sheets and pillowcases with a warm comforter in the colder months but that's because we can get some pretty nasty winters. During a polar vortex five years ago the temps got down to -23F or -40F with the wind chill. 🥶 I usually change from cotton in summer to flannel towards the end of November and switch back in April.

I use the same type of sheets all years but what I put on top of the bed varies from winter to summer. In summer it is just the sheet and in winter there is a big comforter and a big fleece throw that the cats can snuggle in.

I use a down blanket. Which is basically a lighter weigh comforter. And flannel sheets in winter. Regular sheets and a quilt in the warmer months. I switched to my winter stuff at the end of October.

We use flannel sheets with the electric blanket and a heavy comforter in the winter. I put the flannels on about a month ago. In the summer, we have cotton sheets with a lighter comforter. The electric blanket is on the bed year ‘round. And I use the blanket in the summer as Rick has the house too chilly for me; I couldn’t sleep without it.

Electric Blankets have come a long way over the years. Many years ago when I bought one the instructions cautioned about leaving heavy things on top because they could create hot spots. One night my cat jumped up on the bed and laid down while it was on. About 10 minutes later he suddenly jumped up and left. I guess he was heavy enough to cause a hot spot and the heat was too much for him.

I have flannel sheets when it gets cooler, I put them on a couple of weeks ago, and regular sheets whenever the flannels get to hot in the spring.
Then, 2 thick fuzzy blankets on in the winter, and a lighter one. I get cold sooo easily. Love a hot water bottle for my feet. And I have to have a cooler room to be able to sleep.
Summer is a window open and the ceiling fan, and a sheet and light comforter, for the cooler summer room. I have to have some weight on me! Kitties come and go. Waffles hates the ceiling fan.

I love my Northern Nights 100% cotton sheets! In the warmer months,we have the air on in the bedroom,my sheets and a down alternative bedspread on the bed.Right now it's been cooler-ish at times.so I broke out the fleece blanket and it goes under the bedspread.I usually fold back the bedspread on my side of the bed...too warm. When it turns really cold,I'll break out the flannels.

I have a top sheet and light comforter all year. Doesn't really get that cold her, but it gets hotter th an heck in summer and DH turns on the air.

Same sheets all year round. If my sheets start pilling, I can't use them anymore because it's so uncomfortable. I feel that flannel sheets are more prone to pilling, so I just stick with soft cotton sheets.

I used to have several sets of Northern Nights sheets before we moved up to a king bed. They were amazing but I’ve heard the new aren’t as good. which really stinks because when I went to change to my warm flannel sheets this week I remembered that they have worn a hole in them and kohls didn’t have all the pretty patterns in cuddle duds flannel sheets now apparently.

Yes I made the mistake of buying a set of the newer ones and I was sorry I did.Not like the ones I have for sure!
