Greetings from a sleepy but sleepless Monday morning from my neck of the woods. I set my grocery pickup later than usual because I was supposed to have time to catch up on a little sleep. Ha. I’ve been up since 6 when I’m normally dragging myself out of bed at 9. So I decided to run errands early. And thankfully I had a breakfast sandwich reward at Dunkin; so now I’ve had a nice breakfast. Maybe I can nap later.

Whats your favorite way to relax?

I prefer to curl up with a good book and a cat. Or in bed with a book because thats often the only place I get quiet/alone time. I’m glad my kids are around so much; but sometimes my introvert self needs a wall between us to get my social battery recharging.

A cup of coffee and a cat in the morning. Late afternoon a cat and looking through cookbooks. Also I find working outside in the garden restorative and also helps me sleep at night.
Wanna come help me catch up with weeding? 😩😅🤪 It is a good way to find a mental reset!

Coffee is involved in anything I do especially relaxing. Nothing like a nice warm cup of joe to keep me grounded. The way I like to relax in summer is different than winter. Summer - sit outdoors w/coffee and meet friends. Winter - sit indoors w/coffee at a cozy coffee shop or at home watching a favorite movie or tv show with Carleton in my lap. :lovecat2:

In bed, under the electric blanket (the AC is cold!) with Mollipop in my left arm and a good book in my right hand. (Sometimes Rick can even hear me snoring out in the living room!) I will often go to bed around 8:00 at night, turn the tv on and surf around on my iPad or read my Kindle.

This is kind of niche, but my favorite relaxing activity is walking outside, specifically with my dog while snow is softly falling. I wish it snowed here more.

Otherwise, just sitting outside in general. Alternatively, sitting with a comfort show and knitting/doing a puzzle, or playing computer games from my childhood that are comforting because they bring back good memories.

It really is wonderful for a mental reset! It is also a ton of work.Did a ton recently and of course I have more now😏
It never ends! *sobs* I find it frustrating - as much as I like the garden, I look and say: "Oh, you again! I thought I rid myself of you already!"

For me it's walks, long bubble baths with a book, meditation - and at the opposite end of the spectrum here - violent video games. It really can reduce stress and frustration, even though I'm absolutely terrible at it. If I need an outlet for pure frustration I choose the latter.

No weeding never ends. I also don't know how I forgot walking that is probably the best reset.

I'm a pretty dedicated yogi, so meditation would be my go-to thing.
Garden 'pottering' (just little things.. trimming, light weeding, making a bouquet) is a great grounding practice, to get away from the nagging thoughts.
