blood dripping onto the floor, and said, "This is what your cat did!
This is so wrong. That is an occupational hazard, and it isn't the animal's fault. I know at one time, don't know if it is still true, but vet tech students used to have to get a rabies vaccination before going on their externships because this happens.

MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles I'm sorry about Mooch, hope he feels better soon.
We have been with are current vet for about seven year. We had taken our cats there years before but left due to issues with the owner who retired. They seem to lose vets a lot. They are sometimes there a year and then gone.I always request annual appointments with one vet who is very good and has been there a long time.I am taking Izzy to the vet tomorrow because something is up with her left eye.The vet she usually sees is booked so her appointment is with a different vet I have not met but has experience and has worked as a emergency vet. Her regular vet did not have openings until a week away and I did not want to wait. They usually have three or four vets on staff and will fit you in for very serious issues.Their other staff is very good as well. They have limited appointments on some Saturdays but are eliminating those in 2025.Before we went back to this practice we had gone to three other vets in three years. One with handled our girls very roughly. Completely uncalled for and not professional. I told them we would not be back.

I have to add this. When Chester crossed the Bridge I got a sympathy card from his vet. It was signed by her and all the techs in the practice. That said a lot about how much they cared about their patients.
Our vets sends cards as well. They also light a candle in the waiting room so people are aware that some has had to euthanize a pet.

Thank you for the well wishes for Mooch. We’re trying to get her gut working regularly again. Its been up and down. 😕

Exactly!! Mooch has bitten our vet and nipped someone else and they never reacted like that or treat her differently. I did have to send the state proof of her rabies vaccination but that was it. They have signs up in the office saying to let them handle your pet during the exam because they can react unpredictably. The tech always used a good thick towel to help. This last week Mooch was actually goo

When Noodles passed I received a carnation and card. Everyone had signed the card and the local florist delivered the flower. I didn’t know I was even in their delivery area so it was a very touching surprise. They also have the candle out now. I think that’s a very helpful sign so everyone can be patient and respectful. Noodles passed at home so we didn’t experience that if they had it at the time.

I've only just seen this.. I've had the same vet for 15 years.. they saw Sundar as a little kitten and then helped him on his way recently. :rbheart:
The people who own it are a husband and wife team, and they've just split up. Of course it's changed the whole dynamic of the place. The new people are unknown, don't know my cats, get meds mixed up and so on. The woman vet is the one who has left along with those who were more 'her people' and I'm trying to find out where she's gone. I think it's usually a case of not being able to set up within a certain radius when you leave a clinic, but I'd travel to see her.
