It's funny to hear people say EST as that's how we refer to my time zone when just talking about Australia. So it really only means something in relation to the continent you're on. We have three time zones in Australia and mine would be called AEST. :)
But some don't go on DST iirc? Because when we were there, Sydney and Cairns were an hour apart, and then there was the half hour one, too in Southern Australia.

Yes, but where I am doesn't have it. That's why you had the difference between Sydney and Cairns (NSW and Qld)
So very technically during DST we have four time zones for half the year since Qld doesn't swap over.

We're in the Central European Time zone. CET is one hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)/Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Early tomorrow we switch to Central European Summer Time (CEST), so UTC +2.
