I have also heard it called an 'acquired taste'. I never understood that. Why should I eat or drink something that I don't like until I do like it or can tolerate it? Why not just skip it?

Growing up we would have ham or roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy and a veggie, usually peppered asparagus, with pecan pie with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. As an adult, that tradition stands strong to this day!

We always used to have roast turkey with winter vegetables and the trimmings such as stuffing, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings. I have pretty much the same except I'm vegetarian now so I replace the meat options with plant based alternatives. I normally have plant based "chicken" instead of turkey now and have had to sacrifice the pigs in blankets! We normally have Christmas pudding or Yule log for dessert.
