Siamese, Himi, etc.

Not actually a breed question, as this is in regard to a pointed moggie, but...

At what age is the darkening of the points considered 'finished' usually?
Ivory is 6 months old now.
When I got her as a 2 month old, she appeared to have a seal mask, and front legs, chocolate hind legs and a blue-lynx tail.
Now she has a beautiful, symetrical seal mask, seal mits on all 4 paws, but chocolate stockings and her tail appears chocolate now as well.

Aside from some very faint marbeling on her flanks, she has maintained an ivory/cream colored coat like a baby.

Do points continue to darken, or can I expect her points to be 'set' once she loses her baby coat in a few months?

AFAIK, pointed cats continue to darken...well, pretty much throughout their lives.

I know overall they continue to darken.
Was more curious about when the points are settled and are the basic color that they will remain.
Or 1 year old seal point moggie is most definitely seal point and was most definitely seal point when we got her @10 months.
Her overall color is a nice toasted caramel.

Our RB Seal point Siamese was 17 and had darkened a lot almost no mask, just a black head legs and tail on an almost dark chocolate coat.

This is all just simple curiosity mind you, since this kitten's points have gone through a few color changes in the last 4 months.
From what I remember when my family kept Siamese, this doesn't happen with them.

So I'm thinking the color changes are due in part to her unknown ancestery?

Hi - we have Seal lynx Point Bengals and I know we have a male that is almost 2 - he is fully colored now but did not start coloring until he was 1 year old. We have a one year old that just started also. If I had to guess I would say before they are two years, but it varies.

Thank you!

That helps a bunch.
I've actually been enjoying all of her color changes, it's all kind of novel to me.

I've also been told that points can darken depending on body heat. Apparently, if the cat regularly sleeps near a cold window or a place where there is a consistent cold draft, that part of the body that is exposed will actually darken.
