Puddles is growling over food again

Well... Puddles is starting to growl over food again. I feed her and Omen twice a day, Once at 11:30 am and again at 7:30 pm. They get treats before bed to tide them over until the morning feeding. Puddles is fed on the window sill and Omen on the old children's table I use as a nightstand. Puddles growls as soon as the food is under her nose and she will glare at me at the corner of her eye and hold the food in her mouth while doing this. As soon as I back away, she eats. If Omen gets too close, she growls at him, but as there's so much space between Omen and Puddles, this rarely, if ever, happens.

ANy idea why she does this? Is it territorial in nature? Anything I need to do? Any concerns? Should I worry about being bitten? If it were a dog, I would worry about being snapped at! Other than that, Puddles is a perfect little angel. And I feel she's getting pudgy. I have to schedule a vet visit between her and my mobile vet who also sees Winter, the dog.

This is probably resource guarding. I've had kittens do it but grow out of it. I think she will come to realize that no one will come take or eat her food. Could worsen if one of your others does try that though.

Thank you! Puddles generally gets fed before Omen or at the same time as Omen. He's gotten in her face once or twice. Thankfully I could block him before he got too annoying. Winter on the other hand is a resource gaurder when it comes to her food and has snapped in the past, which was quickly thwarted. I feed her away from the cats and peace reins for the most part, LOL!
