I have a new indoor cat, and if I decide to leave her indoors, should I provide her with monthly flea protection? We live in an urban environment in a building with several units and alley cats nearby. The weather is seasonal (hot summers, cold winters).

If I decide to get her trained on a harness, and take her for walks, I assume a monthly regimen would be required at that point, correct?

You can get fleas with an indoor animal, because they come in on your clothes. If you get fleas in your home, you will truly regret not using a good flea preventarive. Fleas in you house are a nightmare, I use Revolution, good for fleas, worms and earmites,

I noticed there are some home remedies (e.g. Salt, Baking Soda, food-grade DE, soapy water), but you are supposed to leave them out in the open (spread over carpet or in a dish) for 1-2 days. How does one prevent their cat from licking these home remedies?
