I have a 2 year old cat with possible IBS and am about to start giving him probiotics. The best available as far as I can see is Bioglan biotic balance ultimate flora but it states in the ingredients that the S boulardii is cultured from Lactose/milk protein. Will it be alright to give to my cat. I live in the UK so choice is limited.

I don't think I do, I'm afraid. I have a memory of trailing them with my old greyhound though. I'll do some digging and see what I can find/remember for you.

The one I tried Pix on doesn't look suitable, but I found a few feline ones to try (I'm a little old fashioned in that I feel safer using species-specific supplements where I can ;) ).
Petastical Probiotics for Dogs and Cats | 5 BILLION CFU Max Strength Canine Feline Probiotic Powder | Acidophilus Pet Supplement for Diarrhea Constipation Skin Allergies Itching Gas | Made in USA https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LY4YWOL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_agj.Ab30HXHEC
Probiotics Powder for Dogs and Cats-17 Beneficial Bacterial Strains; Supports Digestive Health, Immune System and Dental Health – Provides 73 billion good bacteria per serving.30 Servings https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LY6GUPR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Agj.Ab4E0Q8KN
Protexin Synbiotic D-C (Pack of 1, 50 Capsules) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003ZJ8AF0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6hj.AbGFBPREC (this last doesn't look so great, but I use and really like other products of theirs).

Bioglan are a very reputable company for supplements etc. I use a lot of them myself! I don't think there'd be an issue with the bacteria being cultured from milk proteins. It's the lactose itself that is most likely to cause issues, and that won't be present in the probiotic :)

If you want a dairy free supplement, check out Solgar's vegan range. They're another great quality company (and, again, I've been using some of their products of years;) ). I use bodykind | Quality Natural Health and Beauty Products | Vitamins, Minerals, Omega 3 and Beauty for a few of my pricier supplements, as they tend to have very good prices, especially if you buy multiple bottles at a time.

I hope some of this helps :crossfingers:
