Vet not rang I stayed by my phone all day too

They just text me saying the vet will ring you tomorrow the 20th when she gets time to check your pets results

So I can't order anything supplements until I know the results

Poppy has been under the bed all day
I've just gave her the antibiotic and the roof of her mouth is very yellow
When will it go

I hope they call you asap. If not call them first thing when they open and ask to talk to dvm anyway about denamarin.

Vet only just rang
I'm. Still none the wiser
Tests still inconclusive
Says white blood cells 25, scan showed possible blocked bile duct and abnormal levels in liver, possibly lymthdtic cholagitis, but I'd need a liver biopsy to confirm and a ct scan and they as a charity don't do them. Would be a referral to a specialist vet who can do more tests
Says prognosis poor as still don't know what we re dealing with
I'm. To bring her back next Thurs the 29th to re weigh her check jaundice and check temp

I mentioned denamarin, she said yes I can try it, but without a diagnosis prob wont work
I've no money for private referral s
What can I do

Ask about doing just the CT scan to avoid a surgical biopsy - it would be less money overall, although still not cheap. In most cases, you need a referral to a specialist, so at least see what your vet can offer from that perspective. These specialists can be hard to get appts. with, so the sooner you start to secure something the better - you can continue to look for funding sources in the meantime. I would also ask the vet how they can help speed up the booking process. The scan that has already been done may be a helpful starting point with a specialist for a consult fee if nothing else.

Also ask the vet if using denamarin in the meantime is at least something you can try. Maybe it won't work, but as long as it doesn't hurt anything, why not try. Find out why the scan (ultrasound?) cannot be used a basis to at least start a treatment for what is being seen.

Look into carecredit.com for financing, ask family if they can help out with a loan, start a funding page through social media (eg., gofundme or others), and take a look at the bottom half of this TCS articles for organizations that you can reach out to about financial help.

The consult fee just to see a specialist is £330. Ct 2500 pounds
No idea how much a biopsy is
I'm. On benefits
Even if I took out insurance today, it prob be no good as it will be classed as a pre existing condition and wont be covered
I've ordered the denamarin from amazon just now
Will be here tomorrow

It is worth trying the denamarin at least. Can you do a gofundme to raise money for some of the tests? 325 to see a specialist? That sounds crazy high, sorry about that 😥 ct scans are way too expensive imo. Maybe an us is better for now.

That is a scandalous amount of money for the referral exam and the scan. The scan is just staggering. That you don't have it is no shame to you. That they would casually charge that much is shame to them. I would find it hard to trust their word on anything with that as their opening. No one will blame you for not doing the specialist or the scan, certainly not Poppy. She knows you love her and are doing the best you can. You are giving her food and a place to live indoors, and that is really actually a lot given what corporations have done to the UK and the US.

So glad she seems to be perking up a bit and asking for chicken! When you order the milk thistle make sure it is for cats. I think the one I got was bacon flavor. It was a while ago, so not sure, but it was deff flavored! I hope the denamarin starts to work quickly too!!

I live in the US, and I thought specialist prices were bad here. That is ridiculous! So glad you are doing all you can for her ❤ I am thinking about you 2 and sending healing vibes ✨️

I used to crush Sybil's with a pill crusher and then put it in capsule maybe. I can’t remember now however I could’ve put it in some water too and then just syringed it or put it in food. I don’t think it tastes bad. I hope you figure out how to do it less stressfully.
