It's common for hair to appear in cat's poop. But my girl (9 years) literally had a wad of dry-ish fur stuck in her rectum. She pooped, the poop gets stuck thanks to the fur inside her, so I helped remove the poop (solid and firm, btw), only to find a wad of hair at the end which caused her poop to get stuck. I managed to pull some out but she was fighting me and I think it hurt her, so I left her alone. It was stuck in tight too, not an easy pull.
Any suggestions what I can give her to help prevent these hairballs from being pooped out like this?
I should add, she won't eat just any treats, I don't want to waste money on digestive treats.
She's on Wellness grain free wet food and once a week I give her this nutrivet gel in her food for digestive tract.
