Oh, and by the way....I think I understood your mouse poem perfectly...I too was a mouse...and timid and not very threatening...but when I got tired of it, and rose up and roared in my defense...some people did not like me anymore...but you know what...it is better this way. Better to not be a mouse. we have a right to roar!!!!!!!!! Good for you!!!!!!!!

i have a hiding place
gata & alexnell

i just read through this thread, forgive me for not reading through it
sooner. oh, where are those thoughts? the ones to describe the feelings
you have when you read such lightness, beauty, art, humour, ...

gata, you have a talent for the rhyme, something i have never possesed,
and think is so wonderful. i loved both of your poems, do you have others?
are you still writing?

i fear i have neglected this forum - but, i shall try to be more constant
around here.

alexnell

all of your poems are so charming, and "light" and deep while witty, and sweet,
or honest, and bold, and simple, and full with depth.

my heart smiles at all of this, i'm still taking much of it in!

please, please keep submitting here, at least here, if you are not ready
to submit to publishers - maybe your courage will build here.

this is a 'writing' that could be said to be..

'shared with ..inspired by.. dedicated to.. written for... many....'
but comes from one that wishes to 'give' to those that are a part of this 'page'........ with all my thanks.......

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the poet
the words fly from my fingertips
they 'dance across the page'
from 'pen to paper', or 'keys to screen'
depending upon the 'Age'
to where they go?.., it matters none
from where they come's the same
from deep within my heart and soul
i have a 'writer's name'
the 'things' that touch me, day or night
the thoughts that linger near
something inside me, makes me write
i bring a 'picture' here
some seem so happy, full of joy
some dismal, dark with fear
but most are deep and inner soul
and 'coax' you always near
heed to the call.. a piper 'pied'
and let my words claim you
not all can understand the 'touch'
and see all of the 'view'
a 'Poet' gives a full 'rainbow'
of feelings and of sight
and it takes a very special one
with love,.... to 'see' it right
we are unbound by earthly tides
we 'speak' from inner shores
not all can venture through the words
and walk through hidden doors
for those that can, we poets cheer
we love to share our word
and hope that someone else enjoys
our words that are not heard.........
Dear Gata .... :angel2:
That poem gracefully waltzed through my soul....Finally, a sense of peace tonite. I've been so "UP" it's been so difficult to sleep. You have no idea how much that has helped me.
Thank you.
:
Love & God Bless....what a gift God's given you!
I've had a rotten cold for 2 weeks now. I barely get any sleep due to my coughing. Medicaion, prescription and over the counter, is inadequate. So I dug up one of my darkest untitled poems, 'cause it fits my mood pretty well right now.
There is a darkness all around us
that goes unseen by others.
I can see it again as it crosses my soul,
the shadow that has no name
only its pitch-black depth.
For me, the easiest path leads down
into my waking dream of death.
here's another:
DIG
Its actually quite comfortable
in this hole I've dug for myself.
I've made a home here
and do not wish to leave.
The rotten, damp smell of this pit
has penetrated into my soul.
My vision has dimmed and grown small
to fit my situation.
I have adapted.
I cannot go back.
Okay. Enough mental/emotional sludge for now. I'm gonna go look at the cute cat picture threads to try to work my way out of this.
What wonderful poetry is here on this thread! I can't write poetry, but I love reading everyone's poems. Alexnell, your poem "Dig" exactly describes my present situation.
Alexnell....your poem Dig really touched my heart!! And Joe...It makes me sad to hear that that is how you presently feel. I know how it feels, I have recently been there...but I decideed life is too short, and I dug and clawed my way out of that hole...at least for now. I hope you can too!
Thanks, my friend, for your best wishes! Hey, things are a lot better now than they've been in a long time. I'm living the life of Riley, apart from being a solitary person. But it's all right, as (to paraphrase Nietchsze) I've looked into the abyss and the abyss has looked into me. So, every new day is a blessing!
