I've had to set a gofundme up before when I hit a rough patch and was caught off guard with a vet bill. I took copies of vet statements and blurred out sensitive info (addresses, numbers, etc.) to post in the updates so that people could see. It helped to prove that my gofundme was legit.

I wish I could donate right now, but we're pretty strapped =( I just wanted to give some of my own experience.
