My beloved Puma Bear age 11.3 died after an illness of 3 months - it’s recorded here under ethical decision etc- despite extensive care. He is on Rainbow bridge but came to me in dream last night . I was so glad to see him and couldn’t believe he was back. Then I saw he was looking awful. Very thin and still sick. Does this mean he isn’t at peace? I am very upset

In my mind it does not mean that.

I believe our dreams often reflect our state of mind.

If you are feeling stressed, you are more likely to have stressful dreams.

Those dreams can be about literally any situation that causes you stress but are most likely to be about a familar situation in your life.

Sometimes after a stressful dream, I marvel at how detailed and "real" the dream was. Your mind can be very convincing......Puma is important to you and therefore an effective trigger to induce a stress dream.

I suggest you look carefully at other factors in your life and that maybe where you will find the true cause of the stress.

Just my thoughts.

I was about to say pretty much the same thing. I have no doubt that he crossed the bridge in the blink of an eye and is once again whole and healthy. Dreams can be very upsetting especially when they involve someone we love who has passed. I know. I had a similar one about my late DH. :hugs:

He's fine and you will be too. :alright:

No, it doesnt mean that at all- what it likely means is that your mind hasn't healed yet after suffering the loss of such an important figure in your life. When my father died I had extreme anxiety and would dream of him still being at the hospital- waiting for my mother to pick him up. Once you begin to mend, your mind will open up for Puma Bear to visit you in a positive way.

I'm just echoing what others have said. Where he is now there is no illness, only joy and health. What you saw in your dream was a reflection of your own pain during his last illness. He may well have come back to visit you, but your own pain "saw" him as still ill, when he is not. Time will heal this, and his visits will become a joy to you.

It has been a year and a half. I hope it is stress related and will examine my life. I need to believe that precious animal is at peace and not trying to give me a message. I am otherwise an alert and well oriented person with a profession but Puma and his death have done a number on me, I guess, plus I am open to allowing that maybe these things can happen - but I don't want to be that person that sees what isn't there.
Thank you for the reply.

All Creatures return to the Realm they belong to. All meet the pain first time when they open their eyes on Earth. And we all long for returning home. What is home? Home is an warm and peaceful place. For everyone there is a home and all homes are different, because we all are different.

I imagine the home of the Cats like a fluffy Cloud, where there is plenty of food (even forbidden food is there :-) ). Water everywhere and the Wind petting behind ears and on chins. Cat know better than myself, I think :-) .

Why a Cat choose to show up in a dream in a precarious state then? Nobody suffers at Home. Could be a sign? I do not know, I do not master neither the Nature nor the dreams. But I know there is always a Reason. Ask yourself what is Love for you, let It drive your mind and hands. Maybe there is something you should do, but you cant figure out what it is for now. Love is for some like a glass of water: they have the glass, but it takes time to find out where is the flower to wet.

Significant dreams come to people with great Soul. My tears and respect.

Do not be sad. It is a but a dream, and as what others said, it is most probably just a reflection of how you feel at the moment. You may also still be feeling either guilt or grief over his passing even if in the world you show to others that you have moved on.

Think of him running around in an endless field of grasses and blooms, looking down on you from that kitty heaven and assuring you he is more than fine. Remember how it is to feel the comfort from the sound of his purrs, and you will be amazed how it still will work wonders on you.

He is fine. He is happy. And you should be fine, too. We are all here for you in case you still want to talk about it.

Just want to share also with you, a beloved childhood dog of mine passed away decades ago, but until now he still visits me in my dreams especially when I am in my lowest of lows. Sometimes in the dream he wags his tail happily; but sometimes he just looks at me with those sad pensive brown eyes I loved so much. Then each time I wake up, I feel this unexplainable pain in my heart that only a person who has truly loved an animal will understand.

Sending you lots of love.

He was a beloved family member who is a part of your very soul for eternity. You were so stressed to see him, someone you loved so very much, as he was when he died it left the memory seared into your brain. So is not unheard of for it to come back when you, yourself, are feeling unsure about something in your life at the moment. You might not even be aware of these feelings, but they come when you are receptive and relaxed in your sleep. Grieving is a process that evolves for the rest of your life. And just like life itself there are good parts and bad. You get ahead, and then take three steps back. Try to remember, the 'essence', the soul, what made that precious boy who and what he was, is free now. Free of that physical body that held so much pain and suffering at the end. I believe what you saw in your dream is a holdover, a flashback to that awful period of time one an a half years ago. In time your little one will come to you and be made whole, the pain of your grief is being reflected in your dreams. He has a secure place in your heart and is living through you now. He wants nothing but happiness and good to be in your life, for you to go forward and find peace in your life. Because that is exactly what you would want for him too if you were the first to go, because that is love.......

If you’re feeling guilty about being unable to help or save him, maybe there’s an association going on currently. An example would be feeling helpless or unable to change a situation. Perhaps a friend or loved one is sick or in a situation you can’t help. Our mind tries to solve dilemmas even when we sleep. Maybe you’re still trying to make sense of your loss...

He is no longer struggling with an illness- that in-itself is peace.

Puma Bear played an important role in your life for 11 years and you two dearly loved one another, his passing will be on your mind for some time. I understand your feelings completely- it will take me years to get over Jeff leaving me- if I do at all. Some deaths are just harder than others to accept.

Your words as well as words of the others are so tender and perfect. It is therapy reading these replies. The impact of loss from that 11 pound black cat is enormous and you all seem to understand.

I want you to know I read these responses again and again. The image of the dream Puma under my bed wanting to come toward me but being still so sick is blazed into my skull. But perhaps he was part of what ever else is going on and I related it to the time he was working so hard to get well but couldn’t.

We have all been there, the impact of losing those little ones is a powerful influence in our lives. If we haven't experinced losing a loved one yet on this site, it WILL happen. Death is always a natural conclusion to living. It is something you can never prepare your heart for, death is devastating to a soul no matter how or when it happens. It's as if we lose a part of ourselves and in a way we have. The hard part is learning to fill that tremendous hole in our hearts and homes that comes with their leaving. When we lose a soulmate, those precious little ones that somehow mean more than any other love, it never does fill completely. Just like a devastating wound it is left open a little to drain. It takes much longer to begin to heal, much more time. One day at a time.......

I am a firm believer that when they move on to their next journey that they are made whole again. Free of pain and any suffering. I am sorry that you had such an upsetting dream, I know that it would shake me to the core, but as stated above it is more a reflection on your state not of your sweet Puma.
