One would think....that by having a bobcat enclosure in their back yard, complete with bobcat litter box, loaded with bobcat scents, and heaven forbid a BOBCAT. That, wildlife might be scarce, cautious, flat out terrified to approach.
But, I've come to realize........ NOT
And I mean not even the least itty bitty little bit intimidated.
In the last 24hrs I have seen:
Several squirrels on and inside of the enclosure.
Many many birds on it and in it.
Deer will walk right up to it and nibble the tall grass I was too lazy to weedeat.
Raccoons will show up in the middle of the night and reach inside to grab some bit of food he didn't eat.
Little gray fox was here last night as well, put two feet up on the wire to get a little higher view of inside.
Rabbit was snuggled up right up against the wire this morning.
Even the most cautious and skittish creature on the planet (our little black cat) will sit less than 2ft away and gaze into certain vicious terror.
Apparently, nothing fears a bobcat. Else he's made friends with everything. It's like a scene out of Bambi or something.
