This poster gave the best information on the problem. The AVMA is the best site I have found for recall news and up to date information on the problem of pet food recall. There is also a lot of cat food nutrition information and information about cat food brands at this site, which cites the AVMA site for its news value: http://www.snoozer-dog-beds.com/Dog%...ndAnalysis.htm

JCat is one of our wonderful MODS here and yes that was great info ...

I avoid site rating food as all is personal rather than scientific opnion
... Basically I view the Whole dog journal as a source but seldom use the advice

for unbiased information on pet food industry.
ONE LINK WAS enough... I did look at it and unbiased it is not as NOTHING is without bias unless it is a double blind study...

THis is for RECALL info links ... NOT general education of nutrition

Sorry, about the double posting. Every community is different and I have found the posting here hard to understand and follow.

More melanine positive food regarding Nutro:

This is the first laboratory-confirmed case of a non-recalled product containing melanine. One family confirms that the FDA is investigating these additional products.

NUTRA MAX CAT GOURMET CLASSICS: The following three 3-ounce varieties tested positive for melamine by UC Davis:

* Chicken Cacciatore, UPC 79105352055

* California Chicken Supreme, UPC 79105300117

* Lamb & Turkey Cutlets, UPC 79105300148

The test was privately requested by a California family that lost their cat.

I have a personal interest in seeing that no more animals are harmed by this disaster.

Here is a easy to read list that is posted on the AVMA site.
Cat & dog food recalled on 4-10.

I hope that all TCS members continue to check for updates in this thread.
It could save a life.
