Yes, this study relates to cases in the past, but there is an important thing to note. People believe that ratation treatment protects from salmonella. It really doesn't seem to, or at least the studies are incomplate.

"From June 2015 to Sept. 2019, 154 human cases of Salmonella infection were reported across 34 states. The investigation identified seven Salmonella serotypes genetically related to samples from pig ear pet treats.

The study also noted that pig ear treats labeled as irradiated were still found to be contaminated with Salmonella. Irradiation is a method used to reduce pathogen burden without heating the product. The effectiveness of irradiation on pet treats derived from dried animal byproducts, like pig ear treats, has not been well studied."

Pet Food Safety Recall: Lewis Sausage Company, Inc. recalls five varieties of Viva brand raw dog food and raw cat food (Lot 21244) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the Enforcement Report for a complete list of affected products.
I have never used Viva Raw, but, someone in another forum does and they reached out for clarification on the recall.
Used with their permission, this is what they sent them in response... (bold emphasis mine.)

"I absolutely understand and we truly apologize if this notice caused any unnecessary concern. Any food that you have received would not be affected!

This lot of product was only sent to our warehouses for storage and was not distributed to any customers. As a part of our regular test & hold process, once we received a positive sample result on the product, it was disposed of and this demonstrates that we have the proper process controls in place. We are confident in our food safety practices which include sourcing USDA-inspected meat & manufacturing in our USDA inspected kitchen where our food is made alongside human food.

We use validated hurdle methods such as an organic lactic acid spray on all of meat & vegetable ingredients and monitor our product temperature to stay within 28-32F during production. As with this lot, multiple samples from each batch of our food are tested for Salmonella, Listeria, and E.coli to ensure our results are statistically representative.

Food safety & sanitation is always our #1 priority so please don’t hesitate to ask if you have further questions. 🐾"

Sounds like a good company that's on top of things. I wonder if there will be an official statement about the important details not mentioned in the recall? I doubt it.

Horse feed - This is a watch what's happening not a recall, but something that should be watched.

"The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) received word from a veterinarian last Friday, August 23, of a potential issue with horses relating to a single bulk feed order for Beutler and Son Rodeo Co.

“Started seeing some stuff that wasn’t right and then all of a sudden looked up and there’s horses just falling over dying,” said Rhett Beutler, co-owner of Beutler and Son Rodeo Co.
Beutler says between 40 to 70 horses died.

The reason for the sudden deaths is still under investigation, but it could be linked to feed that originated in Kansas."
..." An equine specialist says the mill also produces cattle feed and it could of been contaminated with Monensin, which is often given to cattle, but is deadly to horses. "
