So I use tea tree oil for a number of things; spot treatment of acne, on minor cuts, in foot soaks, etc. I know not to ever apply it to my cat or let her ingest it, but now I'm wondering if it's bad for cats to even inhale the scent of it. I don't diffuse it, but when I use it in foot soaks the smell can be somewhat prominent. Is it dangerous for cats to even inhale the scent of tea tree oil (or other harmful essential oils, for that matter)? I've tried googling this, but all I can find is how it is dangerous if applied directly or ingested, not inhaled. I love using tea tree oil for myself but will stop using it if it means it's harmful to my cat. Thank you!

Welcome to TCS! :wave3: Your question intrigued me and since I did not know the exact answer other than double check with your vet I did a search.
Here's a post on the cat forum that I found about essential oils:
Essential Oils and Cats
However, I would still contact your vet and ask his/her opinion. It's always better to be safe than sorry. ;) Good luck!
