Has anyone been prescribed this ? What were the symptoms and what was your dosing?
I’ve read many controversial things online.

I was told half a pill 2x daily crushed in the food. There is no way to pill my cats.
For about year I have one cat that has the swallows. Usually she will burp about an hour after eating

last month after being sedated my second cat came home , scarfed down almost 3 plates of food. Since that day , she now has the swallows which leads to a cough or sneeze and then a burp . It’s usually connected to purring. We did X-rays and see no blockage ,

Be sure it is Pepcid A/C, and when our cats were on it, per the Vet, the dosage was 1/4 tablet once per day. Depending on what it is being used for, it can be given twice daily.

One of our cats was impossible to pill, so we ordered this through a compounding pharmacy and gave it as an injectable because she also wouldn't eat if anything was added to her food. I have heard this medication is kind a bitter, so this might be an option for you.

Thank you for the info. The vet gave me the info over the phone. I just sent an email to double check on the dosage.

Pepcid is usually given to combat nausea. The normal dose is 1/4 of a 10mg tablet twice a day. (We use generic Famotidine.) We use this product from Amazon to give a medicine "treat" to our kitties when needed. It makes pilling them so much easier.

I sometimes used this for Sadie as well. I personally don't like to keep her on it as a daily medicine, since it can effect the absorption of medicine and nutrients from food. But she sometimes has overproduction of acid due to being on steroids for autoimmune disease, and generic pepcid helps out greatly.
Her dose is also 1/4 of a 10mg pill, I cut them with a pill cutter and shove them in a pill pocket. Never had any issues. It's so small she never knows it's there lol.
