Hi, cat parents. I have cat who is probably just over a year old. He is in very good health. But. I notice that if I leave anything wet on the floor - bath mat, wet towel - he will pee on it. I have not had him to the vet because I doubt he is ill, his spirits are good, is using his litter boxes, eating, chasing the other cats, playing, etc. I have heard of cats doing intermittent marking, but why would he do this to a wet item? cats are so weird!

Hi. How long have you had him, and how long has this behavior gone on? Aside from some health related issue, I can only suggest that you start making sure no wet items are left on the floor - after a period of time it will probably break the habit. He might just be associating the wetness of the towel or mat with peeing.
