Mullein is awesome for so many things! I will have to try that! We call mullein "mules ears" around here and it is very prolific. A few years ago, I had a badly bruised shin that got infected (swollen with red streaks) and I couldn't get a doctor's appointment so I applied a mullein, plantain and hollyhock leaf poultice and overnight it was almost normal! I am soooo glad that you mentioned mullein - I will ask my sister to pick up some capsules at the health food store tomorrow.

It's an awesome plant! I take the capsules on a regular basis and it seems to be helping some inflammation issues of mine . . . For what it's worth, the tincture works faster to stop a dry hacking cough. ;)

Mullein was also known long ago as "graveyard dirt." In fact, almost every one of those really freaky, creepy "witch's potions" ingredients is an herb of some sort. Except "baby fat." That's the tallow of a lamb. A little icky, but not as bad as it sounds.

I need to make a new thread for Patter updates, but I don't know where or what to call it . . .
:geekcat:
This afternoon, I talked with the woman who will be taking Patter and me to the specialist for the ultrasound. It's made everything real.

Thirty minutes ago, I'm slouched in the living room chair, feet up on ottoman. All of a sudden, Patter hops up on the ottoman, which her legs didn't have the strength for a few days ago, walks up my legs, presses her forehead against mine, and plops herself down on my chest.

This was an extremely rare treat! She does not like to be held + cuddled like her brother does. :redheartpump:

She stayed a few minutes and then jumped from the back of the chair to the top nest of the cat tree. I've always loved watching her jump - it's like she's flying.

So now I'm sitting here with a wet face.
I love her + Pitter so fn much. I literally would not be here if not for them.

This is the first time I've let myself think about the probability of losing her. The test results are not going to be happy.

If I had to guess, I would guess that her being able to jump up like that could be an indication that things may possibly be resolving.

That's my fervent hope! She was already doing a bit better by the evening of our emergency vet visit.
(The pain meds might've helped . . . :winkcat: )

It's taken 2 weeks, but she sure seems to be back to her bouncy self. <toes crossed!>

I'm so very happy to hear that! Regardless, this time of her feeling wonderful and perky is a blessing. Crossing my paws that it is for a long, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time!

An extremely late update:

Patter passed her test with flying colors. We don't know what caused the clot (yet), but it was not her heart!
