We have had a rescue for 11 years, we think she is around 13 now.
Each year her crying at windows and doors has progressed. She sounds like a cat in heat. She is super loud because part siamese but her behavior is crazy a few months twice a year. She doesn't put her back up as much as a kitty in heat but she does like it scratched.
The vet said I can do a $160 hormone test that can tell us if an remnant and that the exploratory surgery is $800. They have never done this hormone test so it seems uncertain as to the accuracy of it and then it's more money lost. I am 99% sure it will confirm she has a remnant. It's a massive expense but she is uncomfortable and crying all the time and could have many years left. Is anyone familiar with these hormone tests and reliability or this surgery? Thank you
