Our cat bitsy (who is only very small) we have just discovered is preganant, her midriff has become very large and movement can be seen, she is normally extremely affectionate, but at the moment doesnt seem to like being petted and when not trying to escape outside is usually hiding away somewhere asleep. I have no idea how far along she is but her nipples have become very large and pink, is it best to keep her in or would she be safe going out, she seems to have become very slow in her reactions and other cats just don't want to know her.
Is this normal and what is best for us to do??

Hi and thanks for posting...

Yes, it would be a lot safer and better for her to stay inside now. She could be anywhere from 3 weeks to a week away now...hard to say.

There is a real good thread of posts here which contain links to great resources about kittening if you think you should brush up a bit before the birth...

Good luck, and let us know if we can help.

My best to you,

Gaye
