Got this in a newsletter, and I thought I would pass it on here.
~~~~~ Date to Remember: Feral Cat Day is October 16 ~~~~~
Source: ASPCA E-Newsletter
October 16 marks the second annual National Feral Cat Day, instituted and organized by the Washington, D.C.-based Alley Cat Allies to enlighten animal welfare professionals and the public about nonlethal methods of feline population control. All across the country, thousands of people--shelter and rescue group workers, veterinarians and animal activists alike--will align to raise funds for low-cost veterinary services, stage marathon spay days and circulate materials about Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). ASPCA News Alert readers, you're welcome to participate, too--whether it's volunteering at an event in your area or simply by informing your veterinarian about TNR. For more information, and to find out if there's anything planned in your neck of the woods, please visit Alley Cat Allies online at: http://www.alleycat.org/ or contact [email protected].
